Thoughts To Ponder-#10

Relaxation is the prerequisite for that inner expansion that allows a person to express the source of inspiration and joy within.

With spirit we are all children of the cosmos; Without it we5B1 are orphaned and adrift.

As you embrace the present and become one with it, and merge with it, you will experience a fire, a glow, a sparkle of ecstasy throbbing in every sentient being.

As you begin to experience this exultation of spirit in everything that is alive, as you become intimate with it, joy will be born within you, and you will drop the terrible burdens of defensiveness, resentment, and hurtfulness...then you will become lighthearted, carefree, joyous, and free.

If we share with caring, lightheartedness, and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile.

Each of us is here to discover our true Self that essentially we are spiritual beings who have taken manifestation in physical form that were not human beings that have occasional spiritual experiences that were spiritual beings that have occasional human experiences.

We forget sometimes that there are saints living among us. When we meet them, we are reminded, not just of the presence of pure divinity right here on earth, but also of our own potential, and of the responsibility we have to try to live up to it ~ for our own sakes and for the very future of this planet.

Ecstasy carries you completely outside your ego boundaries. In ecstasy you know yourself as cosmic ego, unbounded in time and space.

Wealth of the Heart

Do you ever stop for a moment and think about all the energy you have spent in your life just chasing money? Do that now. You have worried about it, cried over it, thought of it, been panicked about it, spent it foolishly, wished for more of it and maybe even did some things you didn't want to do to get it. That is a lot of work. I'm as guilty as the next person. I have lived paycheck to paycheck many times. I have lived a little better at other times. There is an easier way to see the wealth you already have. How would it feel if you did not have to worry about money at all and it just came to you without effort? Consider for a moment that you could attract unlimited wealth by keeping your mind-set and actions in the right place. Imagine being able to turn your life into an amazing journey full of passion. Does that sound great or what? It certainly does to me. There is a way to have wealth, but you may be surprised at the solution.

Turn your thoughts to the middle of your chest where the center of your heart is. There is your wealth. True wealth is knowing the desire of your heart and learning your life's purpose. Call it guidance from the divine, destiny or a spiritual mission. My interpretation of a life purpose or calling is finding that one thing that brings you joy. There is one thing that you can do that no one else can in just the same way. In all the history of the world there has never been another you. Therefore your place in the world is unique. It's perfectly alright if you don't actually feel "called" to anything right this moment. Instead, ask yourself what it is you really LOVE doing. What gets your blood going and creates a passion inside? That's where you start finding your purpose.

After you figure out what your "thing" is (it could be several things related to each other), figure out how you can leave the world a better place while living your life's mission. If you do it for the love of it, the wealth will eventually follow. Put all of your passion into it and share it with everyone possible. It is unlikely that you will magically have all the money you could need right away. Abundance comes from the heart and when your heart is in the right place, abundance will follow. Start expecting it because this is the way to true wealth.

Do you know what happens when you stop worrying about money? It starts to find you. Another thing about living your life's calling is that abundance in every form will start to come into your life. You not only find wealth in material ways, but the joy, passion, peace and love brings true meaning to your life. That is wealth of the heart and it is priceless.

Need Mental Imagery

Do you own the secret-weapon for concentration, learning and memory improvement?

Many are called; few are chosen is a clich. It applies to our secret weapon because owning MI (Mental-Imagery), is not the same as using it for super-success and personal growth.

Can you instantly see yourself in your minds-eye smiling as they hand you a fancy diploma, or shaking your hand to congratulate you on promotion to divisional v.p.?

All healthy folks are hardwired to use their conscious mind to create specific mental-movies of their choice. In fact we have attended to mental-imagery all our lives. It is called Daydreaming, Night-dreaming, and Creative Imagination.

Geniuses call it intuition; religious folks identify the results as miracles; the rest of us see it as inspirations to quantum-leaps of discovery.

Two Kinds of MI (Mental Imagery)

Interviewing thousands of graduates, the feedback is: 98.6% of MI is subconscious and involuntary. It just happens to us randomly and fortuitously.

The second, infinitesimal MI, is consciously placed in our minds-eye by a personal decision; we will it to appear. Few and far between.

Heres why you should care: MI is either ANTs Automatic Negative Thoughts, or APTs, Automatic Positive Thoughts. Some neuroscientific studies conclude we have over two-hundred ANTs, compared to less than five APTs.

So What?

Mental Imagery has a direct effect on our chosen behaviors. We tend to do what we imagine, what we see on the movie-screen of our mind.

We are unaware of MIs because they are faster than Speedy Gonzalez, last only a second at a time, but return repetitiously as mostly negative feedback. They are like visual roadmaps steering us to where our non-conscious mind directs us to go.

Uncontrolled, our typical MI is negative and disturbing of our comfort-zone. Can you picture yourself shooting the basketball, and completely missing the hoop and backboard? It does not have to be a Championship game, just important to you

You freak-out, curse the ball and hoop, and ultimately the ANTs make their appearance. Dumb SOB, are you handicapped? - you hear in your mind. What now happens is your anger activates your Sympathetic Nervous System, and you get a killer dose of Adrenalin (Epinephrine), and sail into chronic stress.

If you carefully watch sports or your own environment the ANTs make the screamer much worse, and actually program him/her to fail a second and a third time. Why?

The mental-movies we play on the movie-screen of our mind is our roadmap to our actions and behaviors. Remember the power of mental-imagery directly affects our decisions and behavioral options. We cannot see straight.

Mutisensory Training Rules

Published August, 2006 in Current Biology, is a great article by Professor Aaron Seitz of Boston University, and the scientists at UCLA. It has the hot, catchy title of Multisensory Training.

Profound conclusion: when you engage more than one of you gross senses, you gain faster improvement in learning and memory. Do not stick to just a single sense to learn optimally.

Example: After you finish reading, the second step to Master-Learning is reading aloud your personal summary-review of the book, report, or article. This gives it stickiness for lonB68g-term memory.

Why?

You are using two of your gross senses vision and auditory. How much better? Up to 28% in our research. Want to double it? Simultaneously read aloud, while you write a synopsis of the text you study.

This time you have actively involved vision, auditory and touch (kinesthetic), the Big Three senses. Your memory will 2x by moving from a single sense perception, to a multisensory system. Perceive means to comprehend, understand or digest. If you can figure a way to add the sense of smell or taste you improve even more.

Conscious or Unconscious

When we feel anxious, stressed or afraid, or angry, ashamed, and embarrassed, our brain responds to these negative feelings with ANTs. It creates at a non-conscious level, a new mental-movie of death, destruction and disaster; it wipes out our positive goals, hopes and burning desire.

Remember, it kicks in automatically using memories of previous failure, rejection, and loss. Old programming is the most powerful, and turns us into robots of negativity.

How?

It shows us pictures and mental-movies of how we should react and we follow- through like a pet dog performing its trained tricks.

Substitution

The secret of APTs Automatic Positive thoughts is consciously substituting them for the non-conscious ANTs. First, mentally say-and-hear the two-words Cancel/Cancel whenever a ANT offers you negative feedback in the form of MI or negative feelings.

You know how to instantly program your Still, Small Mental Voice, to repeat the phrase Cancel/Cancel - three-times in a row. We call it Sub-Vox, Subvocalization, or stream-of consciousness. It is the same voice that narrates in your minds-ear every text or story you read. Do it how hear the words Cancel/Cancel!

You got it! That is your Target Affirmation to defeat ANTs; repeat with emotion 3x.

Mental-Movies

The second step to eliminating ANTs is by substituting new, positive Mental-Imagery in their place. Do it now! Instantly picture yourself on a sunny beach, cozying up to noisy waves of the beautiful ocean. Feel the warm sun on your skin, and be aware of the wide smile on your face of deep relaxation.

You can change your MI in a millisecond; it takes awareness, attention and a desire. Nothing to it, right? The results are amazing small changes lead to Massive-Reactions, said Dr. Edward Lorenz of MIT.

If it is so easy, how come you never attempted it before?

Answer: there are two ways we human-beans learn. The first is by Practice (repetition). Unfortunately, you have been practicing ANTs.

The second learning system is by Coaching and now you have no excuse for creating chronic stress in your life you have just been coached in Substitution.

Last point we specifically learn by Observation, Trial5A1-And-Error or Lecture. Figure it out have you been using your natural gifts and talents to learn or ignoring your powerful MI skills?

See ya,

How to Will Yourself to Success

One challenge of the human condition is gathering the strength and courage to break through the barriers we erect which keep us from confronting personal problems and challenges. It seems that avoidance and fear are the twin killers to personal progress. Why is it that some of us can motivate ourselves to accomplish everyday tasks and set long-term goals? Why is it that others of us often avoid, procrastinate, and waste valuable time agonizing about our inability to carry out self-rewarding behaviors?

The implication of willing ourselves to success affects every aspect of our life. Some of us desire to lose weight, change jobs, exercise, make new frien5B4ds, or learn new skills, but create resistance affecting our chances for a positive outcome. Why do we choose the road of self-defeating behavior even though we know that a different course of action will bring us to our desired goals and a sense of fulfillment?

The will to act must be greater than the power to resist. In other words, the urge to accomplish a task or goal must create an inner momentum until its force becomes irresistible. For some, this means a mounting cascade of frustration and anger, or a sense of being fed-up with the status-quo. The constructive passion to achieve drowns out the inner voice of inertia. Often, people tell me that an inner voice keeps hounding them until the clamoring sounds of change are strong enough to break the impasse.

Often people will resist the road to change because of a pattern of prior failure. They might say, Ive tried that route and it didnt work. They may view the motivation to change as an either/or process. Either Im 100% successful or Im a total louse. They may overlook the subtle changes that are necessary to complete a task. Established goals may be unrealistic and set the stage for failure. An additional obstacle may pop up when one starts down the road of progress and faces a period of regression. The back-sliding may be viewed as a monumental setback rather than a part of the growth process and may lead one to completely give up on5B4 a new endeavor.

Those who are unmotivated tend to harbor self-blame. They will blame themselves for their inability to change or will chastise themselves for any behavioral setback. With a mind-set of victim-posturing, the unmotivated individual will say, Its no use; no matter how hard I try, I will always come up short; its just my nature. Self-blame becomes an excuse for not trying. The self-centered focus is on personal failure rather than the impetus to move forward in spite of failure.

Often people remain unmotivated because they fear success. Those who contemplate losing weight might say, What if I lost weight and start to look more attractive? How would that affect the way others view me? My friend might want to date me and I dont know if I am ready for that! The fear of success often keeps one tied to the safety-net of the past.

The foundation for willing oneself to success begins with the process of setting goals. An individual must start with identifying what he really wants and needs. must be reframed to reflect a positive way of perceiving events. A friend who was unhappy with her life once told me, I know that I am withdrawing from people and I believe that it is bad for me. What she really needed to say is, I need to feel connected to other people; I want to find a way to make that happen. How we frame our thinking helps us to determine ways in which we will a5B4ct on them.

It is very difficult to move forward when you dont know where you are going. Setting realistic goals is essential to increasing our self-motivation. Goals need to be identified and chunked down into smaller steps. This makes getting motivated less overwhelming and easier to manage.

Giving yourself permission is an important ingredient to creating motivation. Often, people lack a sense of inner permission because they have relied on others to lead their lives. The fact that they have depended on others to direct their life makes them feel incompetent and thwarts forward-moving change.

Fully functioning people dont wait, they dont procrastinate, but they act. Life is too short. The fear of passing time may give us a sense of urgency about changing our life and making things right. Such a feeling of urgency may create the conditions necessary for changing the quality of our character and behavior. We dont have forever to will ourselves to success. Today is the day to redeem that which we have put on hold.

Wisdom Of The Ages

Growing Others Into What They Could Be

"A true Master is not the one with the most students, but one who creates the most Masters. A true leader is not the one with the most followers, but one who creates the most leaders." Neale Donald Walsch, Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialogue

I was doing fairly well in grades one to three - especially in reading. Then I hit a terrible teacher in grade four. She made school so unhappy and unappealing, she almost caused me to drop out of course I would have waited another few years to make it official. However, in grades five and six I came under the nurturing of Mrs. Westman. I vividly remember her saying after I'd read a composition to the class; "someday I won't be surprised to see your name on a book." Her encouraging words simmered in my subconscious for years and helped me to see new possibilities for myself. Twenty years later my first book, The VIP Strategy: Leadership Skills for Exceptional Performance, was published. It was a real pleasure to present her with one of the very fir5B4st copies inscribed with a warm thank you message. Her family and the local paper ensured that she got the recognition she so richly deserved.

Most people see others as they are, a leader sees them as they could be. Leaders like Mrs. Westman see beyond the current problems and limitations to help others see their own possibilities. It's a key part of our own growth and development. We continue to grow when we help others grow and develop. That's the second half of the two part growing and developing circle. The first part is our own growth and development. We can't develop others if our own growth is stunted. The two parts of the growing and developing circle depend upon and support each other. We develop ourselves while we're developing others. By developing others, we develop ourselves further. This allows us to develop others still further the growth circle spirals ever upward. The reverse is also true. By failing to develop myself and others, my growth and development circle spins downward.

The art of developing others is the art of assisting their self-discovery. The 15th century Italian physicist and astronomer, Galileo put it this way, "you cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him to find it within himself." This leads us to the developing-without-teaching paradox. The ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao-Tzu, described it like this; "superior leaders get things done with very little motion. They impart 5B4instruction not through many words, but through a few deeds. They keep informed about everything but interfere hardly at all. They are catalysts, and though things would not get done as well if they weren't there, when they succeed they take no credit. And because they take no credit, credit never leaves them."

Growing and developing others is one of management's key responsibilities. The traditional view of management is getting work done through people, but strong leaders develop people through work. As managers, team leaders, or team members, we can't be much help in developing others if we don't really know where they're trying to go. Once we understand that, we can work to align their development goals with those of the team or organization. They don't always match, but generally it's not too difficult to bring them together.

A similar approach applies to our parental leadership role with teenagers. The deepest love we can show our sons and daughters is to help them discover their unique purpose and uncover their special talents. That can be especially tough if it doesn't match the dreams we may have for them. Our leadership task is to help them be all that they can be, not what we would like to be if we were in their place.

Building Self Confidence and Self Esteem

As a hypnotherapist I specialise in helping people to develop confidence and self esteem.

Perhaps surprisingly, the people who ask for my help are not shrinking violets and their reasons for wanting to develop enhanced self confidence are not wholly selfish. Consider a few examples. The names have been changed.

John works for a large corporate. Diligent, startlingly intelligent and very ambitious, he found that his ideas were consistently overlooked. This wasnt enough of a catalyst to bring him to my door, however. He eventually grew frustrated, and then angry, that dominant individuals in his company were able to put their own ideas forward with ease. Worst of all, some of these ideas, he felt, were positively damaging, but he just couldnt make his opposition count. All his intelligence counted for little in his testosterone-fuelled working environment. It had reached the point where he felt that he should resign and start again with a fresh company; he simply didnt feel that he was adding any real value. A man of great integrity, John would rather leave than tacitly support such a wrong-headed and unintelligent approach to business.

John stayed. We worked together to identify his confidence profile, which was very unusual -- represented by less than 1% of the population. Through work on his stage presence and physical presence, we were able to significantly improve Johns effectiveness in being taken seriously, to the extent where he has recently broken through into senior management.

Jenny came to me because she was lonely. A brief marriage hadnt worked out, and she was finding serial dating to be a frustrating activity. Jenny had come to realise that she wasnt moving out of her comfort zone, either socially or at work. She feared becoming enclosed, locked into a safe routine which wouldnt threaten her, but wouldnt take her life forward either.

Jennys confidence profile was almost the inverse of Johns. Where he had masses of peer independence, Jenny had almost none, which meant that she was hugely dependent on the good opinion of others. She needed lots of reassurance, and had very little faith in her own ability or judgement.

The approach with Jenny was to strengthen her peer independence -- her ability to trust in her own judgement, independent of the views of others - and to build up her self esteem. She has now met somebody, changed her job and moved house -- all in the space of a year!

What these case studies illustrate is the complex nature of self confidence. It isnt like height or weight; you cant read off a single value which describes a person. Confidence is complex and to develop, we need to understand our confidence profile. I have subsequently made my confidence profile questionnaire available through the Confidence Club website http://www.confidenceclub.net

This has enabled me to build up an even larger database of confidence profiles, and allows people from all over the world to identify their particular areas for improvement.

Jim Sullivan is a hypnotherapist specialising in confidence and self esteem development. He works with individual clients, with companies looking to de-stress their staff and through his Confidence Club website. http://www.confidenceclub.net

Succeeding In The School Of Life

Succeeding in the school of life is challenging and exhilarating, if you have a positive mind seta.k.a. attitude.

The school of life is continually in session and is ready to teach you valuable opportunities and experiences. You can maximize your success as a learner and increase your comprehension abilities if you utilize a few key strategies.

Be Open To New Opportunities and Experiences: Develop an attitude of enthusiasm and excitement as new information, different points of view or methods of problem solving and new ideas come into your path. New ideas are the seeds of personal growth and your willingness is the fertilizer. Stimulate your growth of new ideas by meeting new people. Define Motivation

Motivation can be defined in a number of ways. Generally, it is defined as a driving force that initiates and directs behavior. In other words, motivation is a kind of internal energy which drives a person to do something in order to achieve something. It is a temporal or dynamic state within a person which is not concerned with his/her personality. There are different types of motivation such as achievement motivation, affiliation motivation, competence motivation, power motivation, and attitude motivation.

Motivation is based on three specific aspects such as the arousal of behavior, the direction of behavior, and persistence of behavior. Arousal of behavior involves what activates human behavior and direction of behavior is concerned with what directs behavior towards a specific goal. Persistence of behavior is concerned with how the behavior is sustained.

Various studies have been conducted to understand the different motives that drive a person to success. Motives are categorized into three: homeostatic motives, nonhomeostatic motives, and learned or social motives. Almost all the motives belong to one or more of these three groups.

Motives such as thirst, hunger, respiration, and excretion are included in homeostatic motives. Nonhomeostatic motives include required activities such as seeking shelter and curiosity about the environment. Curiosity, a desire for novelty, power, achievement, social affiliation, and approval are considered as learned motives or social motives.

Motivation is essential to be successful in any endeavor you undertake. It can be positive or negative, subtle or obvious, tangible or intangible. It is very important in workplaces as it plays a key role in the effective performance of employees. In industry, managers play a significant role in employee motivation. They use different motivation techniques to improve productivity, thereby promoting cooperation between employees and employers.

Learning is somewhat interrelated to motivation. In education, instructors also use motivation techniques in order to motivate the students to learn. It is essential to increase student motivation as it can make a student more competent. Also, motivation encourages self confidence and problem-solving skills.

Your Value and Finding the Courage to Live Up to Your Worth

The illusion is that your life, worth, esteem, importance, or contribution to humanity is based on material things. This is the illusion.

Most people placed a very high value on Mother Teresa. They accurately assessed a very special human life. Yet how many material things did she own? She had very little, yet she helped to truly uplift humanity. She was a very special soul, doing much needed work. In fact, she was the epitome of an important person.

We all value virtue when we see it. Yet we lose sight of virtue in the face of a daily barrage of ads for material things that we are falsely led to believe will make us better people, more worthy, more highly respected as if our intrinsic value were not enough to make us worthy and deserving of respect.

Your Choices

The most important thing you must know is that you hold the individual power to choose how you respond to the events in your life; it is solely your choice to move in one direction or another. With your choices, you create your own reality.

Now, there are agreements between souls who enter your life for certain growth lessons or experiences in which you agreed to participate; those meetings are predestined, but their outcomes are not. The outcomes depend on the choices you make.

So, if you find you are being disempowered due to meeting a certain person, then consider that the reason this person entered your life was so you could grow to honor your own self and push away from one who undermines your growth, if you choose to do this. Should you choose to remain with one who undermines your growth and causes you to feel less than the incredible being you are, you will find that your choice results in misery. You will end up sacrificing your life, playing victim to a chance meeting, a meeting that was predestined to help you come to terms with your highest growth issue.

Of the millions of people who are sacrificing their very lives by choosing to remain in abusive relationships, all in the name of love, I ask, who are you loving? Where are you keeping yourself, and what justifications are you using to avoid your own personal growth? Do not use love as an excuse here. To be a victim, to falsely empower an abuser, is anything but love. To realize a great part of your inner worth is to see your way beyond the challenges. You must set your sights above them and find the inner resources, by connecting to your higher self, or your deepest inner knowing to guide you in the direction of your choosing, for your highest good.

An event in your life is only a part of your life and not your whole life. Do keep the grander picture in mind. Keep the perspective that any event or circumstance or person in your life does not constitute your entire life but a part of it.

This can be either most pleasurable or most painful. I would venture to say that any experience that brings you pain is there for you to grow and learn from. Moreover, any experience that brings you pleasure is given to you because you deserve to experience pleasure.

Do seek to grow and to learn so all of your life can be as joyful and as pleasurable as possible. Suffering is part of the tapestry until you realize the gift or the reason for the suffering. In most cases suffering stems from denial of what is in front of you and from your fear of embracing that which is trying to move you in the most positive direction.

So, as you suffer, you are forced to look at the source of your suffering. It is not the other. It is you. And it is your choice to either embrace the experiences before you or walk away from them. You will know which course of action will ultimately bring you the greatest happiness. When you are true to yourself, you always know what to do.

This is paramount in a consciousness, a life that seeks to evolve.

Your potential is unlimited as a human being. The only way you will be able to fulfill your potential and feel your genuine worth is by making choices based solely on your deepest truth, just one moment at a time.

5 Great Tips To Make Your Goals Your Reality

Goals are a great tool for motivation. But if you don't use them correctly, they can also be a source of frustration. Goals are only empowering if they are used properly. So how do you make a goal into something that is a benefit for you?

Goal-setting strategies are important especially for to help you create the type of success you desire and deserve. Here are five goal-setting techniques to help you realize them.

  1. Balance Your Goals: In your life you will have personal development goals, personal finance goals and things goals. Don't neglect any of them. It is ok to want things, but don't forget to balance those pursuits with your own growth as a person. All of these goals are important so be clear about all of them and make them real for you.
  2. Plan Actions From Your Goals: Goals are not items for your to do list. Your goal is what you are striving for. Plan specific actions that lead you towards those goals. Use the goals to provide your compass for those actions. When you plan actions for the day you can easily tell if they're going to be effective if you have clear goals to compare them against.
  3. Share Your Goals: If you were an archer, would you keep it a secret that your goal is to hit the bull's-eye? Too many keep their goals a secret. Share your goals with people who will support and encourage your aims.
  4. Write Down Your Goals: Make your goals real by recording them. Put copies of your goals on index cards and keep copies in the car and in the bathroom and review them regularly. Make them the center of your focus. Don't just set them and then ignore them. Your goals are like a compass to tell you which way to go. The exciting part is that you get to chose the alignment of your compass.
  5. Don't Give Up: Your goals and the actions you take to get them are different things. Don't be afraid to try something, f57Dail and try something else. Take effective and massive action to meet your goals and understand that any true goals will take many steps to achieve. Sometimes you will make a misstep, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the goal. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's only those who abandon their goals who don't achieve them.

The Heart of the Mentor - Drawing From Experiences

Those of us who have been mentored know that it takes an extraordinary person to touch and affect peoples lives in such a unique way. Mentors must be many things, but they must primarily be a person who draws everything there is to be gained from an experience. Experience teaches us wisdom, knowledge, morality, and human nature to name a few. But a mentor internalizes the feelings and emotions gained from lifes experiences and translates them into the words that can lead, guide, educate, and heal.

One may assume that experience and emotional learning occur naturally in everyone but this is not always true. How often do we go through the motions of life without ever really articulating the feelings we experience? It requires careful monitoring and a thorough memory to take the emotional lessons life teaches us and turn them into lessons for another. A mentor is a mentor long before they meet their partner or make a commitment. They are a lifelong interpreter of feelings associated with experience. It is more than learning from encounters. It is more than remembering encounters. It is reliving the encounter every time they share the experience.

When a mentor shares an experience they recapture the feelings they had at the time and put them into the context of the present. Sharing the feelings they had when they faced a challenge takes more than just retelling the events and time frames. To be genuine and authentic they must touch the actual feeling of challenge, with its fears and excitement, and put those feelings into words.

It is the authenticity of feeling that truly enriches the mentoring process. We have all had conversations where stories are told and walked away with only knowledge of a specific event. In mentoring we walk away with much more. The energy and authenticity of our mentors words are the elements that make mentoring far more than a conversation. They are the elements that inspire and motivate us. They are guidance with the energy to motivate us to take action and make changes.

When mentoring is part of the career process we have the chance to develop our lives with the knowledge and wisdom of anothers experience. When that knowledge and wisdom are shared with genuine feeling we dont just learnwe absorb. It is what allows us to choose a path, take a risk, and learn from our mistakes. It gives us the vigor to make these decisions and choices. It takes a lot of energy to live and grow in the business world and it is the lack of that energy that leads to apathy and ambivalence. More than seeking advice, seeking mentoring is reaching out for the power to control and influence our world.

You may wonder how you will know if someone is truly a mentor or just someone who is giving advice. Once you have met a mentor, the difference will become obvious. Your mentoring sessions will leave you motivated and intrigued, not fearful or apprehensive about decisions you are now faced with. The mentoring experience is a truly remarkable relationship and it is no wonder that so many professionals credit their success to mentoring. Some of the most influential and successful business people sought and received mentoring early in their careers and achieved incredible things.

All these things are possible because mentors mentor with their hearts. That vital and powerful part of them is what allows them to have such an impact on the lives of others. Sharing their hearts, with all its intrinsic hopes and dreams, gives them the authenticity to guide and enrich. When you meet a true mentor it is not hard to believe them because they have a consistency that one can trust and believe in. The emotions they share are consistent with the words and experiences they impart. When you find a mentor you have found a valuable treasure and the process deserves your efforts and respect. Future articles will cover how to be a good partner in mentoring and how mutual nurturing is essential to the process. Mentoring is such a complex concept that this article alone only touches the surface of such an exciting and beneficial process.

Personal Coach For Mental Toughness

My personal coach is me! A tough mental attitude is not something you can purchase at the corner store or at your favourite supermarket. My coach is the door to a mental attitude that will show me where I want to go & what I need to do to get there.

Our life is our own autobiography that we have already written, it is within us. What we need to do is examine ourselves we need to look closely at our feelings, our emotions and try to understand them, without fear. Our emotion572s and feelings are ours, they do not belong to someone else, we do not need to fear them, we are all born with them. They are not bad things. We own them.

What we can do however is we can learn to accept them. The negative feelings & emotions, the positive feelings & emotions. they are our makeup. We own them & we can choose to keep them or we choose to let them go, it is our choice. When we choose to release a negative feeling or emotion, and cast it aside, it may not happen immediately but as we practice releasing, it will become easier.

Any activity we employ that demands continual exercises for our mind, our brain, will strengthen our ability to become whatever we want to become it is up to us as individuals to determine how tough our mental attitude will be. We do not have to fear letting go, We do not have to fear being our best self.

What Is Your Time Worth

Growing businesses are finding outsourcing is becoming a regular necessity to keep up with increasing demands. Over the past few years, a new resource has emerged and is gaining momentum as the word spreads; that is, the services of a Virtual Assistant (VA)

With the advances of technology, it is becoming easier for businesses to outsource some of their administrative tasks, without the need of having a person in house. No need to provide a desk and computer. A VA is able to provide administrative support to businesses all over the world. Distance is never an issue. VA's communicate with their clients by email, telephone, fax, instant messenger or file transfer.

So what is a Virtual Assistant? Since 1996, more than 5,000 professionals around the world have become Virtual Assistants. A Virtual Assistant is an independent business owner who works from their home office environment. Many have chosen to leave the corporate world and start their own business, giving them freedom to better balance family and work time. VA's are highly skilled professionals, who keep up to date with the latest software and trends. They provide a wide range of general administrative services but often specialize in areas such as Web Design, Marketing, Strategic Planning, Project Management or Real Estate Assistance.

Training to become a Virtual Assistant can be found through several organizations; International Virtual Assistant Association, Assist U, International Association of Virtual Office Assistants, and Red Deer College, to name a few. Through the intensive 2-year curriculum, a VA can obtain Certification or progress even further to obtain the status of Master Virtual Assistant.

Business owners only pay a VA for work performed, which is billed hourly. Being responsible for their own taxes, training, health care, insurance, and overhead costs makes hiring a VA an affordable option. Business owners often find they are doing many administrative tasks themselves, leaving very little time to devote to developing their business or planning for future growth. By hiring a Virtual Assistant and delegating daily routine tasks, you can free up time for higher priorities.

As an example:

You charge $75 per hour for your services.

You spend a total of 5 hours on administrative tasks.

$75/hr X 5 hours = $375.00 time value

Costs of hiring a virtual assistant to handle these tasks.

$40/hr X 5 hours = $200.00

$375 - $200 = $175 time value saved by enabling you to devote your time on revenue producing tasks, which could generate additional profits.

The second International Virtual Assistant's Day was celebrated on May 19, 2007 to recognize this new profession. There are about 170 VA's in Ontario and this number is growing rapidly. Two associations in Canada provide support to VA's; the Canadian Virtual Assistant Connection www.cvac.ca and the Canadian Virtual Assistant Network www.canadianva.net These associations provide a Request for Proposal service for businesses looking to hire a VA through the association's on-line directory.

As the Virtual Assistant industry profile increases through media coverage and word of mouth from satisfied clients, the face of outsourcing in the new millennium is changing.

Erika Martlew is a Virtual Assistant offering professional administrative support and marketing assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs. She has extensive training and experience in marketing and customer service. Success Life - Attain Your Life-Goal

LIFE GOAL

Yes,you can attain your life goal!

You can attain your life-goal no matter what your present circumstances are.If you have a high life-goal and a low beginning -thats good. Thats good? Why? Because people who must overcome difficulties have more need and more motivation to try harder . Psychologists call this "over-compensation",which simbly means "extar trying " or trying harder in order to overcome difficulties. J.Paul Getty, who is a billionaire (equal to 1,000 millionaires),says that the secret of success is just two wards:TRY HARDER! Any one ,anywhere, can try harder. The greater your difficulties, the harder you need to try to overcome them. And ,the harder you try,the more you succeed!

Any one ,anywhere, can try harder. The greater your difficulties, the harder you need to try to overcome them. And ,the harder you try,the more you succeed! If you want to attain your goal earnestly enough to try harder...and try harder...and try harder.

SUCCESS

SUCCESS METHODS

2. Become the person you want to be!

3. Get WHATEVER you want!

4. Succed with PEOPLE-PROBLEM!

5. manage and ,if it is neccessary, control PROBLEM-PEOPLE!

6. Manage and control YOURSELF so that you can successfully Master ANY personal problems!

7. Achive and maintain INNERPEACE so that you will be at peace with yourself and with your fellow men!

8. You can harvest ONLY what you plant

*If you think success, you will be successful

*If you think goodwill, you will atleast goodwill

*If you think friendship, you will attract friends

*If you think love, you will be loved

9.You to control your life and determine your future!

10.You MUST GUIDE YOUR LIFE WITH MENTAL PICTURES!

SELF CONTROL

There is no excuse for unjustified anger;it can bring about your downfall.Wait and be patient, and later you will be glad you did.keep quiet until the right time to speak, and you will gain a reputation for good sense. Don't be quick to speak or lazy and neglight in your work.Don't act like a lion at home or be suspicious of your servents .dont stick out your hand to get somthing if you're going to be tightfisted when the time comes to pay it back.

1.LOOSE TALK:

Avoid idle talk, and you will avoid a lot of trouble.Never repeat what you hear, and you will have no regrets.Don't tell it to your friends or your enemies unless it would be sinful to keep it to yourself.Whoever hears you will take note of it,and sooner or later will hate you for it.Have you heard a rumour?Let it die with you.Be brave! It wont make you explode.A foolish person trying to keep a secret suffers like a women in labour.Whenever he hears a secret, its like an arrow stuck in this leg.if you hear that a friend has done somthing wrong ,ask him about it.Maybe he didn't say it.if he did,he won't say it again .if you hear somthing that makes you angry with your threaten him.Leave the matter to the Law of the Most High.

2.KNOWING WHEN TO TALK:

Some people are thought to be wish because they don't talk much;others are disliked because they talk too much. Some people keep quiet because they don't have anything to say;others keep quiet because they know the right time to speak.A wise person will not speak until the right moment ,but a bragging fool doesn't know when that time is .No one can stand a person who talks too long and will not give others a chance to speak.

3.INAPPROPRIATE TALK:

Nobody take as proverb seriously when some fool quotes it at the wrong time.you can lose all your self-respect by being reluctant to speak up in the presence of stupidity.if you promise a friend somthing because you are too bashful to say no,you're making an enemy needlessly.Lying is an ugly blot on a person 's character, but ignorant people do it all the time.A thief is better than a habitual liar, but both are headed for ruin.A liar has no honour .He lives in constant disgrace.

4.BEHAVIOUR AT DINNER PARTIES

When you sit down at a fancy banquet, don't say,"LOOK at all that food!"It is impolite to have a greedy eye;remember that.Nothing in creation is greedier than the eye;that is why it sheads tears so often.Don't reach out for everything you see,and don't elbow people out of the way to get.Be considerate of the other people at the table and treat them the way you want to be treated. When you get your food ,eat it like a human being.Don't smack your lips and slurp;nobody can stand that. It's good manners to be the first to stop eating;stuffing yourself is offensive. If there are many people present, don't try to be the first to be served.A little bit is plenty for anyone with good manner.Besides, you won't be short of breath when you go to bed.People who eat too much get stomachache and cannot sleep. If you don't overeat, you can get a good night's sleep and wake up early the next morning feeling fine. But if you do get a stomachache from eating to much,go off and vomit and you will feel better.Hello friends if you listen to what i am saying and put it into practice, one of these days, you will thank me for it.Be moderate in everything you do,and you will never be sick.

BODY LANGUAGE

EYE SIGNALS

1.THE BUSINESS:

When having discussions on a business level, imagin that there is a triangle on the other person's forehead.By keeping your gaze directed at this area ,you create a serious atmosphere and the other person senses that you mean business.provided that your gaze does not drop below the level of other person's eyes, you are able to maintain control of the interaction.

2.THE SOCIAL GAZE:

When the gaze drops below the orther person's eye level,a social atmosphere develops.Experiments into gazing reveal that during social encounters the gazer's eyes also look in a triangular area on the other person's face,in the case between the eyes and the mouth.

3.THE INTIMATE GAZE:

The gaze is across the eyes and below the chin to other parts of the person's body.In close encounters it is triangular body.In close encounters its the triangular area between the eyes and the chest or breasts and for distant gazing from the eyes to the crotch.Men and Women use this gaze to show interest in each other and those who are interested will return the gaze.

Goal Setting And The Road To Mastery

Can goal setting be reduced to a formula? Of course, there are self-help books out there with their 5 steps, 12 steps and so on, approaches to setting goals and "achieving whatever you desire"! They are not the topic of this article. Instead, I want to introduce you to the wisdom of George Leonard as expressed in his book, "Mastery - the Keys to Success and Long Term Fulfillment."

"War on Mastery"
Although Mr Leonard is writing with American society in mind, I believe there are lessons here for goal setters in most of the industrialized countries. Lesson #1 is what the author refers to as "America's War on Mastery". This is the learned behavior of a populace "addicted" to a relentless, compulsive urge for an almost endless series of climactic experiences and thrills.

The "anti-mastery" drugs are administered primarily through the mass media of entertainment and popular culture - sports, movies and soap operas. Faced with such a dazzling array of apparently effortless perfection, "quick-fix" solutions and "world class" talents in almost every conceivable arena of human achievement, it is enough to make a mere mortal onlooker despair of getting started with whatever talents he/she possesses.

Now from a coaching perspective, I could argue that these displays of perfection are wonderful role models for others to aspire to. And in some ways they are. However, Mr Leonard is lamenting the fact that society seems to ignore the fact that real excellence in any endeavor comes only after long years of practice, frustration and persistence. Interspersed with sporadic improvements - and sometimes regressions too! He calls this "loving the plateau" and draws on his love and experience with the martial art of aikido as an example.

So what are the goal setting lessons? I think there are two big ones:

Lesson 1:
Set medium and long term goals with the plateau in mind!

Sure, it is possible (and often desirable) to set and achieve short-term goals. There is satisfaction and pride to be experienced in doing that. However, "real life" teaches us that going for a big goal (e.g. starting a home business) is not a meteoric rise from point A to point B. There may be long periods where you may appear to be going nowhere, or even backwards, and where you must "practice" all of your learned abilities on a daily basis just to keep going.

And then one unexpected day there is a breakthrough, an unexpected order, or a surprise introduction to a new customer, which can "change-the-game" and lift your home business onto the next plateau.

Those who are expecting the "quick fix" road to riches will likely taste bitter disappointment. And those who see "achieving the goal" as the point of it all will probably miss out on the 80% that truly mattered along the way. A hollow victory indeed!

Lesson 2:
Love To Practice!

This is sometimes expressed as "Find Your Passion". But I think it goes more than that because some, who find their passion intellectually, hesitate to commit to the daily, sometimes monotonous practice that fulfilling that passion will require.

I guess that's why entrepreneurs hire others to do some of that drudgework! And maybe you should plan for a similar division of roles.

But at the core of it all will be a goal of simply "doing what you love to do". Find that and time on the plateau is to be treasured indeed.

3 Hot Foreplay Sex Tips That Will Result in Earth-Shattering Orgasms for Any Relationship

A good relationship with a loving partner definitely makes life worth living. Whether you are married, divorced or single, there is no doubt that you have discovered that sex is a very important element in finding and maintaining a healthy and joyful love life.

However, the meaning of sex between men and women is as different as a rock to a jet plane. Men can get turned on visually by a sexy lingerie or a hot model in an adult magazine. Whereas, a woman needs to be emotionally connected in order to have sex.

Because both sexes are wired differently, sexual problems can drive a wedge between couples.

Problems experienced by women include:
- Difficulty in becoming sexually excited
- Trouble reaching orgasm
- Not enough foreplay before intercourse

Problems cited by men include:
- Ejaculating too quickly
- Attraction to women other than their partner
- Erectile dysfunction

Thus arrives the inevitable questionHow can I help my partner consistently reach orgasm?

Here are 3 easy foreplay tips that will make you a great lover and generate high-intensity, full-body orgasms for both you and your partner:

Use The Sense Of Touch To Excite Your Partner

Awaken the erotic anticipation in your lover by introducing touching into your lovemaking. Gently and slowly massage those secret hot spots. One part of the body to focus on is the ears. You can stimulate the ear by lightly stroking it with your tongue or probing it slowly with your finger.

Another part of the body to target is the inner thighs. There is a bountiful of sensual nerve endings awaiting your touch. Start with slow, short strokes and build to a mediocre rhythm.

However are you ready for the number one hot zone that will spice up your sex life and get those juices flowing?

If you really want your partner to explode with desire, the most hypnotic and erotic spot on the body is the feet.

The secret of foot pleasuring began in the Bible. In the book of Solomon beginning in Chapter 7, King Solomon aroused his many wives by admiring their feet and sandals. Solomon had 1000 wives so just imagine his shoe bill. In addition, the Chinese have been using foot pleasure since the Tang Dynasty in the 10th century and it still exist in their current culture.

The goal is to arouse the senses all of them by using the power of the foot. There is nothing more pleasurable than a long, slow, relaxing foot massage. Use a sensual-smelling massage oil such as Japanese Cherry and massage the sole of the foot in a slow, circular motion. Next, use your nose or tongue and explore the toes, the ball of the foot, the heels and the top of the foot. Caressing the ankles, massaging the arches, smelling and kissing the soles or sucking the toes are easy yet very effective ways to propel your partner into total bliss!

Change Your Sexual Routine

If you find you are bored or dissatisfied with sex, try changing your sexual routine. For example, if you are a woman and you are nude during sex, buy a sexy nightdress. If you normally do wear a nightgown, go nude and show your body. If you are a man, change those old pajamas or T-shirt and buy yourself a silk nightshirt.

A second tip is to make love in a different room of the house such as the shower, a hot tub, the washing machine while it is on spin cycle or the pool table. However, watch out for that glass coffee table that was only made to support 50 pounds. Be creative, use common sense and enjoy yourself.

A third tip is to change or advance your sexual positions. For example, if you are a woman, try drawing one of your knees toward his chest or try resting both of your legs over his shoulders.

And here is the new super sex tip of the century:

Reverse the universal sex position to all men, lie on your back and women, please mount him. This position will allow the man to prolong the buildup before ejaculation. The man does not move at all while the woman does all the work using his penis to hit every g-spot, h-spot, i-spot or whatever alphabet she is aiming for. This technique will forever eliminate the 2-minute man. The football game in the other room will have to go into overtime if he wants to see it.

Plan A Spontaneous, Romantic Experience

Instead of the crowded restaurant scene, prepare a candlelight dinner for two. Or plan a sexy picnic with your favorite foods and a large rug and blanket to cover both of you. Then spend a romantic night in a hotel. If you have children, hire a baby-sitter for a day and spend the day visiting art galleries, museums or the zoo.

Here are a few more romantic ideas that either a man or a woman may enjoy:
- Buy new sheets for the bed and leave a love note on it.
- Too tired to cook or not a good cook and on a budget? Ask a friend to prepare a meal for you and spend an evening together with your partner in front of the fireplace. - For men, know the six gifts that women request the most: jewelry, shoes, handbags, perfume, lingerie and attention.
- For women, know the six gifts that men request the most: sports memorabilia, tools, electronics, clothing, tickets and no nagging.
- Frame your baby pictures together.
- While out in the public, show your affection to each other by holding hands, hugging or just saying, I love you.
- Take long walks together on a regular basis.
- Make a homemade card or write a poem to your partner.
- For women, hide a box of chocolates under his pillow.
- For men, hide a gift certificate from her favorite store or salon.
- Communicate and listen to each other.
- Schedule and learn a new dance routine together at your local dance studio.

Remember action speaks much louder than words. You dont have to buy big expensive stuff - it is the little stuff you do that makes you a good lover.

Soget off your lazy butt and show your partner that you love him or her.

The True Power of Meditation

You have probably heard you should meditate, but whats in it for you? What are the true benefits to meditation?

The biggest benefit I see in meditation is that you still your mind. It becomes quiet...

Think of the last time your mind was racing with unstoppable thoughts... Maybe it's like that right now! I know for most people, having constant thoughts is normal. I know what that's like, it was normal for me too a few years ago.

But it's not like that for me anymore, in fact, as soon as my mind gets into this "over-thinking" mode, I immediately feel drained and my energy goes way down.

So what does this mean to you?

If you find that you are constantly thinking, you are only able to access and feel a very limited amount of energy.

If I could show you how much more energy you would have if you were able to quiet your mind even for a small amount of time each day, you would be amazed!

Because what happens when you quiet your mind is that your Spirit begins to shine through you. Your Higher Self or your Divinity becomes present. So you not only have more energy, you also have access to an infinite wisdom, creativity and even love.

That's why I believe meditation is beneficial. You stop allowing your mind to constantly be in control, you open to your more expanded, wise and loving self to come through.

And this can open your life up in ways your mind could never imagine... I know this has been true in my life.

Had I left my mind in charge, there's no way I'd be sharing my true passion through Intuitions. Id still be in my old engineering career, filled with doubts, fears and uncertainty. Knowing at a deep level what I always wanted, but not knowing how I could actually make it happen.

It took inspiration, energy, opening to possibilities, letting go of fear, allowing transformation within...

None of this could have happened had I let my mind stay in charge. I had to open to a greater wisdom, to a greater consciousness.

So try it for yourself, for the purpose of accessing the more amazing, infinite, creative, loving self that you really are, to open your life in wonderful ways you can't yet imagine.

Another important point is that it is not how long you can meditate for, it's that YOU CAN STOP your thoughts. That's all. That you can consciously stop your mind from it's crazy, non-stop, exhausting thinking... and open to peace, energy, vitality, inspiration, creativity, wisdom, and clarity. In just a moment.

Try it now, close your eyes, focus your attention within your body and allow yourself to relax and allow the thoughts of your day to just slip away. Focus on your breath, just watch it, feel it.

Why?

So you are focusing on something which allows your thoughts to stop.

If you have a hard time with that one, try a guided meditation. In guided meditations, you are focusing on the words so you are still stopping your thoughts, which is the point...

Either way, begin today, even if it is for short periods of time. Even if it is for 30 seconds, the point is why you're doing it and that you are doing it. It's not about performance, it's about allowing your amazing Spirit to shine through you and into your life. Opening your mind and energy to the wonderful possibilities for your life. Try it out to see the benefits for yourself!

Oneness With All That Is

Dear Loved Ones,

Welcome to Spirituality Inside and Out and the Daily Universal Insights.

We Love to Honor you into this community of Unity and Oneness.

I love you. I love you. I love you. FOR WE ARE ALL ONE.

Have you taken a deep cleansing breath today? Go ahead and give this time to yourself and collect your thoughts and yourself into a Hug. You are definitely worth it.

Oneness With All That Is Oneness with all that Is, simply Is when we don't make a big deal about it. It is Beautiful when we choose it to be Beautiful.

Oneness with all that Is, Is Exciting when we give it the energy of Excitement. Oneness with all that Is, Is Loving when we Love for it to be Loving. Oneness is Oneness as we awaken to be One with ourselves and others.

So many times there are complaints about loneliness and resistance of the Oneness. So many times the door to our hearts are closed due to past experiences and the Oneness is to blame. So many times one is in financial stress while the Oneness is offering much to cure the problem.

We see what we see through our own eyes. We experience what we experience through our decisions. We are in charge of our own eyes and our own decisions.

Let us open up to the Oneness everywhere. Support is everywhere. Love is everywhere. Sometimes we give way and forget that we are Not alone. We choose to be paralyzed in one aspect of our lives and the paralysis takes over as if we are bound and tied to something reversible and unsolvable.

When we choose to be One with ourselves then there is no separation of the continuous and eternal Self. When Oneness takes place within then Oneness takes place without.

What advantage does the external Oneness have for you? You shall personally know it when you experience it.

For Now I invite you to close your eyes, take several deep cleansing breaths and see yourself One With All That Is. See what you see in your mind's eye. Feel the feelings of Love as Oneness. The more you connect to the Oneness the more you are in the present. The more you live in the present the more you feel the presence of Divine Love. The choice is yours.

No one can force any human being into doing, being and having what they don't want. I encourage you today to let go of that side of you which may say that this is all hogwash, silly or nonsense.

I encourage you to pay attention to that part of you that is thriving and waiting to be One with all that is since the beginning of time. That part of you, the God within you, the Spirit within you is you, and the time has come for you to really be One with yourself and feel the Joy in your Heart and Soul, as if you are the presence of all Beauty in all things as all things.

You are so worthy of Love inside and out. Open up to receive it. I guarantee you that Divine Love will heal you.

And so it is. Bless you.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

Please feel free to forward and share these Insights with your family, friends, associates, helpers, boss, teachers, students and enemies to create a space of openness to create Oneness.

May the love and light of God and the Universe surround, protect and heal you, your loved ones and the planet earth. With Love, Gratitude and Respect, Michelle Morovaty Truly, With God All Things Are Possible Copyright 2007 Spirituality Inside and Out, LLC

Why?

I have never in my life written a poem before. I am far from the poetry type. This just came to me this morning while working on my real estate book. I consider it a gift.

Why?

We come to this earth with our notepads so clear.

And so we are born knowing no fear.

The worlds a stage, for us to perform.

Our life stories so great, so far from the norm.

We see things as they are, instead of should be

The moon, the stars, the winds, and the trees.

There is no illusion, in the space between ears,

We experience life, with laughter and tears.

Things start to change, the world on our heads,

No sleeping at night, but not because of our beds.

Our world hasnt changed, but somehow it has.

How did this happen? Why take this path?

Life is no longer in the here and the now,

Instead life is spent, with sweat on our brow.

Fearing the things we cannot even see,

Life is no longer about the wind and the trees.

Life has become one thing or another,

Time passing by, forgetting were lovers.

Loving our lives, that we once had.

Now just pages in time, the passing of sand.

Without even knowing life has passed by,

So many mistakes, why even try?

The world never changed, only in my head.

Why did I believe it? So close to dead.

Oh, what I would give, to go back to me?

Strategic Advice For Giving Feedback From Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach

One of the most critical activities of a coach, mentor, supervisor or anyone that oversees the work of others is to provide feedback to let them know, in a timely and ongoing way, how they are performing. People committed to continuous improvement will always welcome the opportunity to discuss their strengths and areas for improvement in their performance. The feedback given must encourage self-reflection, raise self-awareness and help the person look toward his or her personal vision.

Performance feedback may be formal or informal. Traditionally, formal feedback is planned as part of a performance appraisal and includes an assessment of how the person is progressing toward meeting his or her goals. Some of the most important things to remember in these appraisals and assessments are:

+ scheduling a specific meeting time and allowing adequate time for the review.
+ confirming that the person has clearly defined goals and measurable outcomes to review
+ ensuring that the reviewer has had direct observation of the person being reviewed
+ ensuring that the reviewer has skills in giving positive and negative

Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach has some advice for those of you that do performance reviews. Here are ten (10) tips to help you achieve a productive and powerful feedback system with people you coach, mentor and/or supervise.

1. Commit to always doing timely reviews of performance. It is critically important to give feedback soon after an event and as regularly as possible, rather than one each year at a formal appraisal.

2. Avoid giving feedback at times when you or the person being reviewed are tired or emotionally charged.

3. Always be specific. People want and need specifics, rather than a general statement of "overall, you are doing fine," which Is basically meaningless.

4. Always be constructive. Your role is to coach, mentor & teach the person by guiding he or she to solutions for areas of weakness. A positive critique, which focuses on "what can be improved" rather than "what is wrong", is a much more effective and encourages the person to look for solutions to improve.

5. Always conduct your review meeting in an appropriate setting. Constructive criticism should be given in private (e.g. ideal settings can be in an office or some neutral territory where you are undisturbed). Phones should be off the hook, cell phones and pagers must be turned off.

6. Provide adequate time for the person being reviewed to share their comments on the fairness of the feedback and to provide explanations.

7. Always engage in active listening and hearing to ensure an understanding of what is being said by the person you are speaking with and sharing feedback.

8. Always focus on the positive. Avoid jokes or personal remarks and remember to concentrate on the act or behavior, not the person. Never diminish positive feedback by qualifying it with a negative statement ("I was very pleased with your report to the board, BUT ........).

9. Decide what specific actions must be done as a result of the feedback session and document a plan of action to accomplish the tasks.

10. Follow-up with the person you gave feedback to in order ensure action is being taken on the needed tasks.

Your strategic thinking business coach encourages you to use strategic thinking in all the performance appraisals and reviews that you do and to follow the above advice whenever you meet with someone to provide performance feedback or any other feedback. Grandparenting: The Pleasures

Are you a grandparent? Wonderful!

Then you are ready to answer the following question: Why are you important to your grandchild? Think a moment and then read on to discover more reasons to feel good.

First of all, you have the ability to give your grandchild unconditional love. There is a special connection between the generations based on this love.

Parents surely love their children. But they also have other roles to play, e.g. teacher, disciplinarian, and chauffeur, just to name a few.

You do not have these numerous pressures. Unless you are babysitting, you dont have to tell the children when to go to sleep, pick up their clothes or brush their teeth. Your relationship has the potential to be one of pure pleasure, not one contaminated by anxiety or frustration.

Second, you are the link to the past. You pass on history, traditions, and values. Everything that you do stays with the child and becomes a remembrance that can be passed on further. As Kathy Peel states in her book (Family for Life, NY: McGraw-Hill, 2003, p.220), What we leave in our children is far more important than what we leave to them (my emphasis).

Third, you have the capability of being a true friend and confidant; someone who will listen without feeling the need to lecture, someone to share the childs joys and frustrations. Your presence is all that is needed to ease the load of growing up.

The more you listen, the more you give.

But what if you hear something that concerns you, or that you dont approve of? Are you free to express your opinion? Yes, because just like you would want your friend to be honest, so does your grandchild expect you to be straightforward and truthful. However, as a loving friend, when you do share your opinion, you can do so in the context of that love. Thus you might question the behavior, but not the self-worth of the child.

Fourth, if youre fortunate enough to be retired from work, then you also have the special privilege of having the time to listen, which many parents dont.

When you give your grandchildren time, youve given them the greatest treasure in the world. It is irreplaceable. Youve given them pieces of yourself that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

To be a grandparent, you dont have to be wealthy. You dont need to give presents. You just need to give attention and love.

Lastly, you are the glue that holds the family together. By means of your relationship with each member of the extended family, you inform all of them that they are part of a supportive and loving family network.

Now do you know why you are so important?

7 Characteristics Of A Toxic Relationship Pattern

Our choice of partners is a staged process. First is the awareness of the others appealing appearance and/or personality; discovery of similarities; then a state of emotional arousal; and finally, the revelation of deeper psychological needs.

Recognizing the SEVEN aspects of a toxic relationships pattern can help you see what is happening in your life and get out of continual frustration, pain and sadness faster.

1. Repetitiveness

You have been involved in more than one relationship that initially offered the conditions of hope but failed to live up to its fulfillment. The people may be different but the beginnings and endings are the same again and again.

2. A conflict

No matter how good the feelings are initially, deep down inside, you knew and felt that there was something about the relationship that made you uncomfortable, or left you feeling anxious, uncertain, worried, jealous, distressed etc.

3. A bodily sensation

You experience a discomforting but familiar biological response that is triggered by something the other person said or did. For example your anxiety level jumping ten points, a sudden knot in your stomach or pain in your forehead.

4. A feeling of deep loss

When a relationship ends, you are left with a sense of loss of something (or rather the hope of something). You experience emptiness where you once felt a real connection, no matter how infused with uncertainty, shame, humiliation, pain or suffering the relationship was.

5. Obsessing

Youve thought about it or actually believe that the rejecting response of the other is due to your own words or actions driving them away but still entertain the notion that you can somehow transform the other person into the loving accepting person that you are so desperately and obsessively seeking.

6. An underlying vulnerability

Your sense of your own self-worth is threatened; and you feel bad in the sense that, as much as you have functioned as a resource for others and have done well where the use of good coping and conflict resolution skills are maximized, you feel overwhelmed and very vulnerable.

7. Disowned parts of self

Underneath the surface, there are deep roots from which your boding patterns have grown. These imprints of are like the fuel that intensifies the negative bonding pattern.

Understanding your deeper psychological needs removes some of the mystery from the force that drives you into the arms of one person, while pushing you away from another who might appear equally desirable to any unbiased observer. It is really possible to break away from a toxic relationships pattern and begin enjoying healthy, happy, and fulfilling long-term relationships.
