A Life Of Spiritual Education

Having a Spiritual Master - A Way to Success!

About 1400 years ago, everyone was in the darkness of false worship of stone made gods who were helpless themselves. Then came Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) as the last prophet of Allah. In the childhood he lived totaly differently as compared to other children of Makkah. He was well known of his honesty and beauty. After the time he was blessed with Islam, he started preaching Islam and the one and only Allah. He was blessed by countless miracles. The biggest and onsight miracle is Holy Quran. He was a Complete man having every knowledge about this world and the other. He was blessed by the love of Allah.

When the anti-Muslims came to peek against Islam and the people started teasing Muslims, then Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) started preaching the Oneness of Allah and the Greatness of Islam. At that time he was a Spirtual master for everyone. The one who came in the circle of Islam, had great blessings on him. There are many examples before us who embrassed Islam and had blessings of Allah. Some of the men and women are as follows:

1- Hazrat Abubakar Siddique. R.A

2- Hazrat Hamza. R.A

3- Hazrat Umar. R.A

4- Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed.R.A

5- Hazrat Ali. R.A

6- Hazrat Usman - e- Ghani. R.A

7- Hazrat Khadija. R.A

8- Hazrat Ayesha. R.A

There were thousands of people who embraced Islam at that time. But after the death of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) a lot of Sahaba Karaam preached Islam and gave their lives in the way of Islam. Those were the successful men who were the students of their spiritual master Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). After Sahaba Karaam, this duty was fulfilled by the saints of Islam who were real lovers of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and Allah. The saints of Islam preached in different areas of the world and those who became the real lover students of their spiritual masters earned great names in Islam and also in the world.

There are many examples before us who followed their Spiritual masters and got a famous name in this world and there miracles can been seen in this world. Here are some of the names of Islamic Saints:

1- Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Rehmatullah alaey)

2- Hazrat Moeen-ud-din Chisti (Rehmatullah alaey)

3- Hazrat Nizaam-ud-din Aulia (Rehmatullah alaey)

4- Hazrat Baba Fareed Ganj Shakar (Rehmatullah alaey)

5- Hazrat Usman Marwandi (Rehmatullah alaey)

These were some of the most well known Spirtual Masters who preached Islam and thousands and thousands of people entered into Islam without any war or fight.

A man having a spiritual master enjoys his materialistic and spiritual life as well due to following reasons:

> A Complete (KAAMIL) Spiritual Master is the Lover of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Allah, so you have

the chance to love your master and also Holy Prophet (PBUH).

world, so you have the chance to get that knowledge.

There are also many other benefits having a Spiritual Master. So, Please search for a Kaamil Spiritual Master to get success in your life.

Numerology & Master Numbers - Why They Often Symbolize More Challenge Than Reward

Master numbers include double digit numbers 11, 22,
33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99. They are called Master
Numbers because there is inherent masterful, or
extraordinary promise symbolized by them. This energy
is far from mundane and instead largely other-
dimensional.

Therein resides the catch: These numbers represent energy
that is not of this every-day plane of existence. Its very
spiritual and therefore, unpredictable and hard to handle.
More often than not, those with many Master Numbers in
key positions in the comprehensive charts experience
deeper life challenges than other people.

They usually have more charisma and are more likely to
gain recognition and honor relating to their area of focus
due to regularly accessing unusual wavelengths and naturally
thinking outside of the box, yet so often they gain infamy,
notoriety and suffer major set-backs.

The more Master Numbers a person has, the more likely
they are to be seen as outsiders, outcasts, and even insane.
They frequently isolate themselves from ordinary people
and they are miserable if they try to fit into society and
live a normal life. They must have tolerance, strength
of mind to follow their heart, and compassion for the
many who reject them due to their atypical viewpoints
and other-worldly way of viewing reality. Also, an at
least somewhat holistic way of living (especially diet)
helps them cope with their unusual sensitivity.

Everyone has key lessons with which their souls have
chosen to challenge them in order to learn while incarnated
on earth. Those with more Master Numbers than others
usually encounter more burdens and challenges. Most
people have at least one Master Number in the hundreds
of positions in their comprehensive charts, either as a natal
consideration, or a cycle of time.

Our Numerology Decoder Software correctly calculates
Master Numbers, can tell you where in your basic charts
you have them and what they mean in those positions.

Master Numbers are more appropriately called Double
Trouble Numbers, as they are rarely easy to live up to;
there is usually more to accomplish, and more karma to
balance. But there is ultimately more reward, even though
its often more spiritual (on a soul level) instead of
mundane (personality level). Those with a higher than
average number of Master Numbers must strive for purity
in thought, intent, and action, as anything less will take
them down.

Often, those with heavy Master Number energy are
shunned and rejected because they are so different and
rub the wrong way those who dont like change and
progressive ideas.

As with any number, there is a balanced, under-balanced,
and over-balanced side to each Master Number. For
example, excessive over-balanced 22 energy can indicate
someone operating from a base of dark energy, such as
an uncompromising, violent, international criminal, like
Giuseppe Antonio Doto (otherwise known as Joe Adonis,
mob Boss and a leader in the U.S. Underworld before he
was deported to Italy in the early 1950s). An extreme
example of a person with over-balanced Master
Number energy is Kenneth Bianchi (known as the
Hillside Strangler; he murdered 10 women in 1977/
1978 and was sentenced to life in prison). Neurosis is
par for the course with out of control 22 energy.

Under-balanced 22 energy often represents insanity,
an entirely impractical viewpoint, and total inefficiency.
Balanced 22 energy is tremendously materially rewarding,
is far-reaching, and benefits the masses. There is also the
reduced, earthbound form of each Master Number (4 in
the case of 22: 2+2=4), which is most often lived within
when the person lacks the supportive energy to maintain
the Master Number energy. Many switch back and forth
between mundane and Master Number energy, and some
live on the higher level more often than others.

Rarely does a person with many Master Numbers
incarnate and, from the beginning, live the balanced
side of the numbers. Its standard to ride the full spectrum
of experiences, even risking their lives and bringing great
trouble to their loved ones and themselves, before settling
into a productive, healthy mode of action. Experience is
why people incarnate, and bad experiences will forever
exist, as long as people are here on Earth to balance karma.
Furthermore, one must understand the full continuum of
energy associated with any particular Master Number
before they can live within its highest form.

Just as those with much Master Number energy will
offer unusual ideas and solutions (realistic and productive,
or half-baked depending on the rest of the patterns in the
comprehensive charts), its also common for them to see
and accurately interpret the signs in everyday life that
surround each one of us since they have a natural, dual
connection to the here and now and the indefinable
dimensions. They are in two places (sometimes more
than two) at once. This is what frequently makes life so
difficult for them. They are surprisingly free of
limitations in mind and spirit, yet the reality of this earth
pins them down. Part of their struggle on Earth is because
they are very much from elsewhere and have a tough
time becoming acclimated to fundamental Earth
dimension energy. They are not used to being burdened
with the laws of this dimension, or perhaps the memory
of the energy of the unseen planes is still too real for
them.

Extremes are built into Master Numbers, for better or
worse, often touching many individuals. They reflect
non-earthly inspiration and ideas, either bringing great
light, or immeasurable darkness. Instability,
unpredictability, idealism, restlessness, acute sensitivity,
non-traditional behavior, volatility (think Jack Nicholson
in some of his more dramatic roles), intense creativity
and charisma, leadership ability, and nervous tension are
hallmarks of those with an above average number of
Master Numbers (in potent chart positions).

The 7 Wonders of the ancient world (such as the Great
Pyramid) are symbolic of the type of magnificence built
into Master Number energy. But remember, there is just
as much downside as upside in any Master Number as
its a bridge to a potent energy foreign to this dimension.

Some great examples of known individuals with heavy
Master Number energy applied in a positive way (in
various, prominent positions in the comprehensive
charts) include the following:

*Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy magazine

*Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones,
arguably the greatest (and most profitable) Rock and
Roll band of all time.

*Keith Richards, guitarist of the Rolling Stones.

*Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zeppelin, one of
the greatest Rock and Roll bands of all time.

*Bill Blass, one of the most celebrated and
influential American clothing designers.

*Ray Bradbury, American writer of over 50
books and known as the a master of sci-fi and
fantasy; awarded Grand Master Nebula Award
and Writers Guild Award.

*Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Scottish writer and creator
of the modern detective story and the characters
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson.

*Doris Duke, American Heiress, one of the wealthiest
people in the U.S. in the early 1990s and a notable
philanthropist.

*Sir Laurence Olivier, British actor, director, and
producer; considered by many to be the greatest actor
of the 20th century.

*Meryl Streep, American actress, considered to be
one of the best actors of her generation (11 Oscar
nominations).

Spiritual Journaling

Introduction to I - Ching

The seasoned wisdom of thousands of years has gone into the makings of the I-Ching. Both branches of Chinese philosophy - Confucianism and Taoism have their common roots in this ancient calssic, known also as The Book of Changes. The I-Ching alone, among all the Confucian Classics, escaped the great burning of the books under emperor Chin Shih Huang Ti in 213 BC.

The origins of the I Ching go back to mythical antiquity, as a book of divination and as a book of wisdom. All that is great and significant in Chinese cultural history takes inspiration fromt he I-Ching - aspects of the many related principles and symbols of the Chinese predictive sciences, its view of the Trinity, Heaven, Earth and Man, the concepts of Yin and Yang, balance and harmony, positive and negative forces, good fortune and misfortune, are all derived from interpretations of the texts and judgements of the I Ching's 64 hexagrams.

The I Ching's Hexagrams are each made up of six lines, one placed above the other. These lines may be either broken (--) or unbroken (-). Broken lines are known as yin and unbroken ones yang. These lines may also be changing or unchanging (ie a broken yin line can change to an unbroken yang line and vice versa). Thus the key to understanding the texts of the I Ching lies in the understanding of the placement of thse broken and unbroken lines in relation to each other.

The Hexagrams originated from three lined Trigrams (ie by doubling the Trigrams). There are 8 possible combinations of broken and unbroken lines when arranged in sets of three lines. There are thus 64 hexagrams (8 X 8 = 64) . When placed in sets of six lines, there are altogether 64 possible combinations of broken and unbroken lines. Each of the eight Trigrams symbolize different meanings; and their positionings contain suggestions of good or bad luck. This aspect of the I Ching's texts is what has made it China's premier classic on Divinations.

The I Ching's hexagrams contain symbols and ideas from nature, society and the individual. For those who consult the I Ching before deciding on some action, the hexagrams offer wisdom, warnings, and also specific predictions of outcomes thereby giving guidance on whether to proceed, wait or not to proceed at all. The hexagrams also advise on timing and behaviours and attitudes directly related to the specific question asked. Where applicable, it counsels further preparation, or advocates patience and even reveals misfortunes hidden in apparent good fortune and vice versa. Favourable or unfavourable conditions are described, and difficulties, whether at the beginning or at the end are revealed.

The six lines of the hexagrams contain 3 elements - a symbol, an event and a judgement. The hexagram itself represents overall indication of good fortune or misfortune. Interpretations of these elements are directly related to the question being asked. Thus, in consulting the I Ching, questions must be specific.

Each hexagram contains four trigrams. These Trigrams each have an attribute, a symbol and a characteristic and are also related to the five elements - water, wood, fire, metal or earth. The anatomy of every hexagram is made of two primary trigrams and two nuclear trigrams.

The two primary trigrams consist of the top three lines and bottom three lines. The two nuclear trigrams are made up of lines two, three and four (from the bottom) and lines three, four and five (from the bottom). The primary trigrams reveal the circumstances of the situation being consulted, while the nuclear trigrams reveal the prediction. The latter provide precise details for judging the nuances of predicted good or bad fortune. When consulting the I Ching, therefore, readers must familiarize themselves with the meanings of each of the eight Trigrams as well as what they each symbolize. The I Ching's texts on the 64 hexagrams may then be more fully understood, and predictions become clearer and easier to understand.

Yoga Vacation in Soglio, Switzerland

The articles featured on "Travel for a small planet," in the April issue of Ode didn't say anything about a yoga vacation in Switzerland, but they should have. For the fourth year in a row I'm travelling to Soglio, Switzerland for an amazing adventure centered around yoga and hiking in the mountains.

This retreat is so close to the ideal holiday described in Ode. It's economical; it's in a place that never swayed from being eco, organic, green and spectacularly beautiful. It features fresh, incredibly fresh clean water and air. In fact, in Soglio sound actually interrupts silence - that of cow, goat, sheep and church bells echoing through the valley. The inexpensive and mostly Italian cuisine never tasted as good.

Soglio is in a remote, off the beaten path village, with next to no traffic, in the Engadine, at the Swiss Italian border. Local residents are farmers who take their wisdom - not from the media or commercially driven trends - but from Mother earth. Always have, which is why they continue to use ancient farming techniques - despite (being Swiss) having all the latest modern technology at their finger-tips. And it's why they look so gosh-darn healthy.

These people are yogis in the truest sense - without even knowing it. They and their children before them have not eaten anything resembling junk or preservatives or steroids or plastic or anything but fresh, organic, locally grown and prepared. And, my-oh-my, does it show. These are the most gorgeous sturdy people you'll see anywhere.

The people of Soglio are natural and of the earth and because of it, they inspire the yoga vacationers to soak up all we can during our 1 week retreat. We are to be in the now, in the present - in the AAAOOOMMM, in order to re-create the magic of this place, and not back home, sitting at work in windowless cubicles or in fume infested traffic jams.

The cornerstones of yoga are "proper exercise, proper relaxation, proper breathing, proper diet, and positive thinking and meditation." The people of Soglio don't need a neighborhood yoga center or ashram to teach these concepts because they learned them in the womb. And from their parents, and their parents before them - dating all the way back to when my sweet husband's family, the de Salis' carried the stone (by donkey) up the side of the mountain to build this haven of a place. Hundreds of years ago they left, looking for a better life in the city.

That's how I found this most beautiful place for a yoga vacation. It took me dragging my husband back by the arm into the splendor of this place, for him to actually see and feel the magnificence of what is there. Now, THAT is Yoga. Not the dragging by the arms bit, but the waking up enough to let go enough to actually feel, see and appreciate what IS there - along with waking up to what is actually inside of oneself. It's a wower...an artists' paradise, because of the unique, one-of-a-kind lighting. Soglio is an ashram, because of choices the locals have made generation after generation.

It is with such humble gratitude and love, that I say thank you to these people who epitomize generosity and who welcome Rupert and me with our growing "family" of yogis into the warmth of their expanded embrace.

Jody Tull teaches sivananda yoga in Ann Arbor, MI. She holds an annual yoga retreat in Soglio, Switzerland. To learn more about this rejuvenating experience or to join her get the Soglio Yoga Retreat report at her blog JodyTull.com.

Strategies and Tips on How to Build a Daily Centering Practice

Would you like to feel centered so you can be more clear, focused and intentional everyday?

In this article I will share with you some strategies and tips you can use to help you in feeling centered daily. Not only can this support you in feeling focussed, it can also help you relax (this works especially the more you develop this practice).

One of the most important ways to begin anything new is to choose, declare and develop your intention (in this instance-to be centered everyday).

Now just setting and declaring an intention is obviously not enough.

What are some things that can be powerfully propelling and helpful in choosing and moving forward with your intention?

being conscious of your motivation
being conscious of the impact of not having a centering practice
being aware of your desire to be centered and
being intentional of how centering can impact your life
developing the discipline, practice and habit of daily centering
developing the supports and support systems to sustain this practice everyday

Also, before developing a centering practice, I invite you to first and throughout this process ask yourself simple, yet empowering questions such as: * What makes me lose my center? * What is the impact for me and my work when I feel lost and off-center?

Look out and notice how this impacts you mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually etc Be present and open to the answers that come to you, even if they aren't pleasant. Then decide and commit to begin living from your decision everyday This will support you to choose wisely and in alignment with your desire to feel centered.

Once you are decided about finding and developing a daily practice of centering, you have just set the basis for a positive and stronger foundation by your decision.

Now is a great time to explore and choose a practice or set of practices that you like and that works for you.

Perhaps you could look at this exploration of finding a practice for you as similar to visiting a buffet or playing an discovery game?

I invite you to sample different practices you are curious about. See what works for you. Choose, then learn and practice it daily, through the regular days and through the challenging days. And if you get off track sometimes, notice and just get back on track releasing any judgments

Here are some examples of centering practices : Use wisdom, choose a practice you like and that works for you and modify as needed.

* Focusing on the breath. Example-yogic practice of Pranayama (a breathing practice)
* Yoga. Example-the tree posture and Shavasana can help one feel centered
* Meditation
* Guided Imagery
* Visualization
* Prayer
* Spiritual inquiry
* Moving practices such as walking mindfully in nature, Taichi, Qi Gong, Labyrinth walking
* Repeating a word that's particularly centering for you (ex: love, peace, abundance etc)
* Journaling
* Repeating a phrase or affirmation
* Chanting
* Singing, dancing etc
* Listening to a repetitive gong, bell or chime
* Listening to inspiring music
* Polarity exercises
* Reiki
* Even routine cleaning, organizing activities such as cooking, gardening etc can be utilized in a way that can be centering.

The Six features mentioned below are some common threads in the examples mentioned above as examples of activities used as centering practices:

* The essence is the intention,
* That the activity feels calming to oneself & can potentially contribute to others too * That the activity nurtures one
* That the activity feels enjoyable
* That one engages in it mindfully
* That this activity helps one focus
* When developed as a discipline and practice, it helps one in feeling centered

One could possibly utilize one's choice of any such activity and develop it mindfully into a centering practice.

Some additional things to consider: - Its usually best to choose a regular time for your centering practice, - Find a comfortable place where you know you will be undisturbed, - Inform your loved ones living with you about your schedule and - Request their support to be undisturbed, - You may wish to enhance your environment with scented candles and or soothing calming pictures if this works for you.

Remember, we do have a choice in every moment. After you have chosen and decided to develop a centering practice, don't just set that aside and run through your daily list of tasks to do. I invite you to become one with your intention to be centered daily.

Well, how does one do that? By internalizing your decision in ways that works for you. Its kind of like downloading your intention and decision mentally, emotionally and spiritually into your system and being in action about it everyday.

Some examples of consciously internalizing your intention include:

* Visioning yourself being centered daily
* Engaging inspiring and positive support people you can be in regular contact to support and build accountability around your decision
* Having pictures, words, poems, songs, fabrics and other stimuli that remind you of your decision

And to those who are so stressed and who are wondering about whether centering is worth it, - consider both the pain you may be experiencing in the absence of a centering practice. - Also re-consider, read, learn about, learn from the lives of people who center. - Look again and notice the opportunities for growth, peace and abundance when you learn and develop a centering practice that you enjoy and that nurtures, centers and sustains you in your life journey.

So, no matter where you are in your consciousness, I invite you to practice centering daily to support and align yourself and to positively impact your life and that of others around you. Namaste!

Feeling Good In Church

Forgiveness Affirmation - Forgive For the Sake of Your Own Health and Happiness!

Before you can truly get the good that you desire, the good that God intends for you ... before you can get that good into your mind ...

You are going to have to clear your mind of a lot of hatreds and 'hurtreds' that are keeping you from your blessings ...

You are going to have to FORGIVE!

And you forgive that person who hurt you -- not for his or her sake -- but for the sake of your OWN mental and physical health and well-being!

Forgiveness is rooting up and letting go of the self-destructive emotions of anger and resentment and hurt.

When you forgive you stop holding something against somebody else.

Forgiveness is for your own sake!

Many times people think that forgiveness is something that you do for other people or to other people. But forgiveness is what you do for yourself!

That's why I tell you, don't carry anger, don't carry resentment, don't carry 'hurtred' nor hatred.

Some of you wonderful people, you wouldn't dare hate anybody.

You say, "Rev. Ike, I don't hate, but I'm hurt."

Well, let me tell you, 'hurtred' is just as dangerous as hatred.

Yes, some of you are carrying around 'hurtred'. And that will do you just as bad as hatred -- because, you see, if you carry with you the emotion of being hurt, you will draw more hurt.

If you are easily offended, you will keep drawing people to you who will keep offending you. You go around feeling hurt. "Oh, I'm so hurt."

And you'll draw more hurt, and you'll go around like that song, "Why is Everybody Always picking on me?"

So, you see, you're not just simply doing the other person a favor by forgiving him or her, the first person you do a favor for by forgiving is yourself.

"Okay, Rev. Ike, everyone keeps saying "forgive, forgive", but no one tells me HOW to do it!"

Well I'm telling you exactly how to do it.

This Forgiveness Affirmation Works

Right here and right now, repeat the following 'Forgiveness Affirmation' out loud as many times as you need to ...

... insert the name of each person you wish to forgive
... AND don't JUST say the words ...
... FEEL the words, use your emotions, act it out in the theater of your mind ...
... until you convince yourself that you mean it!

Now say the following:

"I now forgive you, (name of person), for all hurts and harm that you have done to me.
I GLADLY forgive you, (name of person). I forgive you intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
I GLADLY let go of all anger and hostility, and choose to see you through eyes of love and compassion.
I bless you, (name of person)! I wish you health, happiness, prosperity and ALL the blessings of life!
I am FREE, and you are FREE!
It is a MARVELOUS FEELING!"

Remember, you must FEEL this --
-- act it out with your voice and body
-- throw your hands in the air
-- do whatever you must do to 'get the feeling".

And if those hurt, angry thoughts about the person come back later -- you may have to repeat this affirmation many times -- until your subconscious mind becomes re-programmed from anger to love!

I guarantee it will work -- if YOU work it.

And the next time you see that person, you are going to be amazed.
You will feel and act differently and they will react differently towards you!
Or, if that person is distant or deceased, you will experience a new peace of mind regarding that person.
They will be free -- and YOU will be free!

Top 10 Things To Consider In A New House Plan

Seeing that I have recently finished building our new home I thought I'd share some insights into the design of a new home. There are many new house plans available today and the sky's the limit on features and styles. The biggest problem with the design process is once we've decided that we'd like to build a new home human nature kicks in and we want it to happen over night. The problem with that is we typically don't spend enough time evaluating and considering the design aspects of the new house. The most important thing to remember is spending extra time in the beginning will prevent you from having second thoughts once the house is done. The following list are ten important things to consider when choosing a new house plan.

1. Style - I think the style of the home is the best place to start. The style of the home will connect with so many of the choices you make so its important to spend some quality time thinking about the style you'd like to live in. Are your preferences more modern or traditional? Do you want a house that is similar to your neighbors? What house style will hold the best value in your neighborhood? What style house will closely match your interior style and existing furnishings? These are all questions that you need to ask yourself and your family. This was a tough question for my wife and I as we grew up on two sides of the country and our styles are very different.

2. Number of Bedrooms - This question may seem simple and easy to answer but it is worth thinking about and discussing. The easiest answer to this question would be based on your current family size and needs. You may need a two bedroom today and need a four bedroom down the road when your family grows. Or maybe you need four bedrooms today yet your kids will be off to college in a few years.

3. Single Level Vs. Multiple Levels - Whether or not your new house has only one level or more is really a personal decision. Some people really enjoy having single level living with no stairs to climb up and down. Some people prefer the more traditional cape and colonial home styles with bedrooms on the second floor. Some land sites are quite small and someone looking for decent square footage may only be able to build a multi-level house. If you think you may retire and live in your house as you get older the single level house may appeal to you.

4. Master Bedroom Suite - Today's new house plans typically offer a master bedroom suite. These suites often have generous closet space, large private bathrooms with soaker tubs, jetted tubs, large walk-in showers and even walk-in closets. These suites generally increase the value of the home and make the house more marketable if you sell in the future.

5. Bonus Rooms (Laundry, Play) - One of the most popular trends in todays house plans are dedicated laundry rooms and the renewed popularity of pantries. In fact, in my new house we made the mudroom a combination laundry and pantry. Some house plans offer laundry on the second floor of multi-leveal houses. A word of caution if you choose a second floor laundry. Make sure you insist that some type of extensive drain system be installed in the unfortunate case there is a broken washing machine hose.

6. Number of Bathrooms - The average number bathrooms in new houses has steadily increased over the years. The average home in the US has 2 1/2 baths and the average appears to be heading towards 3.

7. Kitchen Style - I could write an entire article on this topic, however, the main point here is that many house plans have just a basic kitchen layout. My suggestion is find a house you like and then modify the kitchen to your liking. Plenty of home supply stores will design you a new kitchen free of charge based on the floor plan so don't let a simple kitchen layout deter you from a house plan you really like.

8. Floor Plans - When evaluating floor plans try to visualize how you will furnish the house and how you plan on using different rooms in your daily life. Get a tape measure and measure rooms in your current house to get an idea of how big a 12'x15' room really is. Often people have a hard time visualizing the size of a room and later when the house is done they are not happy with the size. I really suggest spending time on the evaluation.

9. Functionality - The functionality of the new house plan is really one of the most important aspects for your long term comfort and use of the house. If you put the dining room on the other side of the living room so that you have to carry meals through the living room you will soon realize that's not very functional. The same is true about the proximity of bathrooms to bedrooms. Again, I think its important to compare where you currently live to the house plan and think about your likes and dislikes.

10. House Site - The house site can sometimes play a big part in the style, floor plan and functionality. For instance, if you have a very small site you may need two floors. Or maybe your lot is really hilly and needs a drive under garage. Just make sure that when you pick a couple of plans you evaluate them based on the lot as well.

If you get one thing out of this article remember this, plan, plan, plan and plan some more. The more you plan and evalulate your new house plans the happier you will be when you're finally living in your new house.

How Did You Choose Your Religion

Can We Really Invite Happiness

To me, it seems that not just does he represent such a fine and cultural lineage of Reiki Masters, but he also represents a combination of healing mixed with simple philosophies of how to live well.

This lends to the ideal that living well should be our priority. Maybe when we take care of our lives, we are always more able to take care of ourselves. I had heard the five principles or the five concepts in many shapes and forms and never realized that they were derived from his teaching. The simplicity of his five concepts seems ridiculously easy at first but following them takes practice, patience and meditation. Usui must have known this.

Let's just stop a minute and think...what if the art of living well and living in abundance are determined simply by our actions.

Can we really invite happiness? If we can, it means that all the bad decisions, bad feelings, negative thoughts, frustrating consequences of our life to this point are simply due to our lack of faith or for many - lack of knowing.

Usui was aware of the laws of attraction long before they became a best selling book! Even with so many now hearing the message it seems that still few are getting it. Why is it so hard for so many to believe that what we desire, what we need, what want and intend will manifest directly in our lives. Many like me go at this principle with gusto and eventually fall back into regular habits.

It really does take work and somewhere along the way we are convinced we couldn't really have it all. Usui encourages us to express our thanks, avoid being grievous, be diligent and kind and work very hard not to get angry. These principles are so easy to accommodate during the holidays - yet for the rest of the year they take much work and dedication.

The admonition that strikes the closest to home is, at least for today do not be angry.

I wouldn't describe myself as angry, but if I were to research the emotions I feel throughout the day including stress, hurriedness, impatience, irritability, feeling there isn't enough time to complete things, tired, worried, exhausted or sad.

Anger is not necessarily hollering and screaming as we flail our hands in a tantrum like a toddler. Anger is subtle, grows like a seed of grass under the soil - gaining strength and stamina before the blade of grass shoots up for all to see. Most negative feelings are rooted dangerously close to anger. Anger means we are blaming someone for our problems or situations. Anger is feeling like our lives are not good enough or that everyone else has things better. Anger is hopelessness and lack of trust in the one thing the Universe promises us. Well being. Anger is being resentful towards issues in our life and feeling as if we have no control.

Mikao Usui reminds us that we do have control.

By following just this one concept for a week, month or year until we get it right lives will improve ten fold. For today, do not be angry! When you find feelings that resemble anger or that could breed anger - reach inside for just a minute and use another of his concepts- being grateful and expressing thanks. Do this until the agitation right beneath the skin that increases the heart rate slowly subsides and calm begins to flow through your body. One successful day will lead to another and before long life will be different. It is evident that these concepts are important for the Reiki practitioner because as we achieve clarity the Ki or life energy runs more potently through us and we have more to offer.

How to Let Go of Old Burdens and Let Your Energy Soar!

Releasing your burdens...

So, let me ask you- what type of burdens are you carrying on your shoulders these days? Want more money? (Who doesn't?) Trying to make everyone else happy? Do you feel anxiety for no reason? What else? Do you have lots of drama in your life and are you ready for more peace?

This week, can you commit to releasing your burdens? (Come on, it's just one week!!)

Are you wondering how in the heckfire you are supposed to release them? After all, you have been carrying them around for years! It's fairly simple- I hesitate to share it for it has awesome powers and you may never come back to this book. Just mentally step aside and LET GO. Picture your small self stepping off to the side and letting your Higher Self take over. If you prefer to use the term Universe, or God, or Source, then fine. It's all the same, so call it what feels best for you.

You may be thinking that it isn't so easy, but keep practicing letting go. Take a deep breath and shrug off your worries, and affirm that you did hand it over to a Higher Energy and you don't need to worry about it anymore! Trust that it will work out!

The most important aspect of all of this is to feel inner peace and calm, and to get out of your own way. If you don't know what getting in your own way is, here you go: worrying, resistance, over-thinking, impatience, complaining, etc. Allowing and getting out of your own way looks more like this: inner peace, happiness, laughter, exercise, meditation, and play.

Notice a difference? What are you doing most of the time? Letting it in or blocking your way?

Give your thinking mind a break this week. If you have a few pressing issues, then practice handing it off and not thinking about it. Try this affirmation:

I am thankful that I no longer have to worry about this. I am handing it off to my Higher Self and I trust that it will be taken care of perfectly. Thank you!

Keep in mind that you have been thinking a certain way your entire life. You are used to letting your mind do all the work. Letting go and handing it over to a Higher Source is easy, and it involves you doing nothing but letting go. Why is it so hard for us to do this? Why can't we let go? Because we have been trained to think that "work" is the only way to get things done. I'm telling you that "work" isn't necessary here, and it is actually blocking your way. When you open up to a higher source, Divine intelligence can flow in and give you the answers and solutions you need. As Einstein once said, "you can't solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it!" (I may have paraphrased a bit. Don't tell Einstein!)

After this week, if it feels better to do so, then you can pick your burdens back up and continue to carry them around like old luggage with the wheels broken off. But I doubt you will want to...

How to Be Happier in 2009

2008 has been an incredible year!

Beautiful babies have been born to joyful, expectant parents. New graduates have received job offers. Motivated employees have been promoted to positions they love. Creative individuals have invented new gadgets and technologies to make life easy for everyone. New and old cities have experienced business boom.

After going through loads of challenges for so many years, Newfoundland and Labrador is now a have province. Wow!

But the economic crisis has somehow dampened the positive impact of all these wonderful developments around the globe. Hundreds of families have been left with no pension, employment, or security.

In the face of these difficulties, how can we be happier next year?

Set limits

Whether you like it or not, many people will claim a piece of you - your time, your money, and your possessions. Unknown callers will demand for your donation. Some friends want you to assume more responsibilities outside your family. And some neighbors will make unreasonable requests. If you've lived for at least 20 years, you know what I'm talking about.

How many calls from telemarketers have you received for the past year, disturbing your dinner and pleasant conversation with your spouse? Learn to hang up the phone and say no diplomatically without feeling guilty. Set limits to unnecessary demands from people you dislike and from organizations you hate.

Reduce needless distractions that have stopped you from finishing your tasks, from spending more time with your family, and from achieving your goals. Stop unproductive activities that you feel you "should" perform just to please others. Make use of your precious time on things that you love to do.

Prioritize peace of mind

Peacefulness means being at peace with yourself and with others around your circle of influence. Love yourself. You have great qualities that you need to rediscover and that you need to fall in love to. Loving yourself doesn't mean being selfish.

Improve your relationships with loved ones although they may have hurt you before. Forgive their mistakes and let go. Learn how to express your love and to communicate your displeasure without provoking anger or stress. Also, dissolve destructive ties as soon as possible. If you as a parent struggle to be effective at home, learn organizing and parenting skills

Respect yourself regardless of what you've done. Gain respect from others. You deserve it. Anyone who doesn't value your time and your individuality doesn't deserve your presence.

Focus on solving problems

Believe it or not but all people have problems. You're not alone. For the past year, economic crunch has been the common element that binds humanity. Falling stocks and housing prices, failing banks and bankrupt companies have caused distress, fear, and uncertainty among us.

But people have different ways in facing crisis. Avoiding the blame game is one of the most logical solutions. It won't help anyone if you blame your neighbor for your maxed-out credit cards or for your miserable life with a nagging wife. You can't blame your friend when your boss fires you from a coveted job after you went to work with an alcoholic breath.

Fix the problem with open eyes. Be prepared to accept your shortcomings. Stay strong as you change your attitude, your spending habits, and your work ethics. If you want to turn things around, explore new possibilities . . . and solutions.

Enjoy the moment

Enjoy what you have right now, though how little they may seem. At least, they are yours. Don't be too consumed by what has yet to happen and by what you may own in the future.

Love the present. Smell the coffee's aroma early in the morning. Feel the soft snow that blankets your driveway. Enjoy your children's funny jokes and giggles. Surprise your loved ones with a hug or two. Listen.

To avoid boredom, establish activities that will keep you occupied the whole day. Start the morning with a positive attitude and infectious enthusiasm, and end the day with a heart filled with gratitude.

Set long-term goals

To avoid distractions and to lessen unproductive endeavors, you have to know your desired destination. Set and achieve small goals that can help you achieve the wishes of your heart 10 to 20 years from now. Is it to own a Victorian house in a scenic subdivision? Is it to finish a four-year degree? Is it to grow your business tenfold?

Plan your success. If not, others will plan it for you at your expense. Believe in your ability to reach your dreams. If you don't believe in yourself, who will? Make your dreams big enough to motivate you to act.

Above all, have faith in the Holy Creator as the sole source of all your blessings. In His own time, He will grant your requests.

Taking the Labour Out of Birth With Self-Hypnosis

Every mother-to-be is excited about the moment when she gets to hold her new baby in her arms for the very first time. However, what they probably are not excited about prospect of going into labour and for many this can be an extremely scary time, especially for first time mums who may not know what to expect.

Of course anytime you venture into the unknown, anxiety levels can quickly rise and although it is quite normal to be anxious about giving birth, too much anxiety and tension can actually lead to an increase in the pain associated with giving birth.

Yet by devoting a little time to learning how to relax deeply into a state of self hypnosis and with regular practice in the last few weeks of pregnancy there is much that can be done to 'take the labour out of giving birth'.

In fact self-hypnosis is a great way to help reduce and even eliminate your anxiety during childbirth. It will help you to release your own natural pain killers and can also be used to help enhance your healing and recovery after the birth too.

All too often, the word hypnosis is associated with being in a state of deep sleep or worse still being out of control. In fact quite the reverse is true. Instead of being asleep and unaware of what is going on around you, you are actually in a completely relaxed and aware state of mind, an ideal state in which to let your body's own natural painkiller flow freely. Using self-hypnosis during birth actually allows you to have even greater control over your body and mind during labour, but as if increased relaxation and pain control were not enough, the benefits do not stop there. Studies have also shown that using self-hypnosis can help alleviate any stresses experienced by your baby too and many mothers who have used this incredible technique will tell you that their babies are so much calmer and more relaxed in the early days after birth, just as if this deep relaxation has spread directly from mother to baby

Self-hypnosis can be learned through a variety of books, CD's and tapes but best of all is to find a Clinical Hypnotherapist or Natural Birth Class teacher in your area who can teach you the technique in person.

If you would like to use hypnosis to help you have a more relaxed and comfortable birth then it's a good idea to begin practising well before your due date, so that you are able to take yourself into a deeply relaxed state, quickly and easily just as soon as the need arises.

Anxiety and pain are two words that are often associated with childbirth. However, this doesn't have to be the case. Through the use of self-hypnosis pain, anxiety, tension and stress can all be alleviated. So if you are looking for an effective natural childbirth method, consider trying self-hypnosis.

Goal Setting - Key in Developing Your Home Based Business - Part 3 - Strategy Self Assessment

If you are hoping to meet your business goals, then taking quick stock of who you are will help tremendously in continuing to meet your goal setting objectives. Performing a self-assessment can help you define and get a clear handle on your personal and technical skill level. The following types of assessments can help you examine and reflect on what you need to succeed.

People often wonder what makes it hard for them to begin or complete activities and tasks. There are many factors which may play a role or serve to explain these difficulties. One of these factors is self-motivation. A self motivation assessment helps you establish your abilities and desire to reach your regardless of what challenges are in front of you.

Learn how much you are becoming all that you are capable of being. Abraham Maslow created a hierarchy of human needs. It begins with basic needs, such as biological drives (food, sleep) then moves up to the second level, shelter, safety, and security. The third need is love or belonging. When you know more you will be able to succeed and move forward with confidence which a self actualization assessment can tell you.

Determine how skilled you are at managing and diffusing difficult situations in your home based business. A conflict management assessment can tell you how effectively you are at dealing with escalating conflicts and tension at work, which is the hallmarks of a business owner.

A do I know me assessment can let you see if you really know yourself. A questionnaire like this will help you to realize how well you know yourself and where you are headed in life. The results can provide you with a clear indication of how far along you are in the process of self knowledge and in improving your personal and technical skills when planning your internet, office, voice and customer relationship - IOVC solutions.

Should you be in business or get a job? How many times have you thought about that one? - Are you wondering if being self-employed is for you? Do you have what it takes right now to be self-employed? Have you wondered whether it is your true calling to run your own business? Have you felt burned out in your job and thought about starting your own enterprise?

Are you born to be an entrepreneur? Thinking about starting an internet business? Have you ever met someone and heard stories about their life that made you think, "Wow, she is meant to be an entrepreneur!" Goal Setting Tips to Achieve the Life You Want

Everyone has things that they want to achieve in life, some just have no idea how to get there. Now there are a variety of reasons that people do not achieve these goals as they sometimes set them too lofty or they are just flat out unrealistic. This is not to say you should not have dreams, you just need to have dreams that are realistic and that you can work to achieve. Here are goal setting tips to help you get the life that you want and deserve.

  1. Make a list of things that you want to achieve in life and put them all to paper. You cannot set goals to get there if you don't have a realistic idea of what you really want. It is okay to dream here, but remember that setting unrealistic goals for yourself will ultimately lead to disappointment down the road.
  2. Prioritize all of your goals and set them up in the order that you want to achieve them. Keep them in order when possible. This will aid you in setting them up in a way that each goal achieved can lead you towards your next goal.
  3. Set your goals up in stages so that each goal achieved is actually a series of small goals. Doing this will get you in the habit of experiencing success and allow you to deal with setbacks much easier.
  4. Be ready to reevaluate and redo your plan. There will be setbacks, it is unavoidable, you just need to change your plan and stay focused to meet your ultimate goals.

Having goals in your life will keep you focused and give your purpose. This is something that everyone should consider doing. Remember though, not everyone accomplishes everything that they want as life has a way of throwing in some unique twists and turns. This is when you step back and redo your plan and show life that there is nothing that you cannot handle!

Whose God is The Best

If you're part of a religious organization, and were asked this question, "Whose God Is Better" meaning of course, is your God better and stronger or smarter and better looking than the religious competition. Is this something that you believe or were taught while you were young? Obviously you wouldn't think that the Hindu god Brahma is better than Yahweh or Jesus, if you're a Christian. It just wouldn't make any sense to belong to a religion that was weaker than the competition.

It seems like most religions around the world have gods or even one almighty God that is the biggest and baddest god in the neighborhood, maybe even the entire universe.

If we look at the numbers, the Christian God Jesus of Nazareth is the strongest by far. A survey that was done in 2005, showed Christians 2.1 billion strong and growing. With numbers like this, their God must be doing something right. Do you think these numbers are large because of their financial influences in poor countries? Something to think about, how did Christianity become such a large religious institution. They've got plenty of money and pay relatively little taxes. Remember the golden rule, the person with the most gold makes all the rules.

Second on our religious scale are the Muslims, the Islamic religion has over 1.1 billion followers and that puts it at almost half the size of Christianity, but more than doubled the size of the third largest religion by the numbers.

The third largest religion in the world is Hinduism and most of India which is second only to China as the most populated countries in the world are Hindus. Hinduism ranks around 800 million followers.

I'll stop right there. I wanted to give you an idea of religion by the numbers, realistically the Christians and the Muslims believe in the same God but the Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet and the Christians don't recognize Mohammad at all and Mohammad is the number one prophet for the Islamic religion. But if we put the two of them together, it would be the largest religion by far with almost no competition economically or with military strength.

So to answer our question," Whose God Is Actually Better", I would have to say the Christian God is the most popular and powerful God and the universe. The only problem is, there's no actual proof that Jesus, Mohammed, Yahweh, Krishna or any other supreme being is real. People follow these religions and base almost everything on faith with very little facts that can actually be proven.

I'm not talking about small facts, I'm talking about big ones like, how the world was created, you can choose to believe, anything that you want but until we have some facts or at least something that sounds pretty good, you should probably stop thinking, that your religion is the only way and your God the best. Show some compassion for other religions around the world, their beliefs are no better or weaker than yours.

Christian Thinking

There is a popular saying from Mark Twain about Christianity. Mark Twain - "If Christ Were Here Now, There Is One Thing He Would Not Be, a Christian."

Giving this some thought and looking around at the people that view themselves as Christians got me to thinking. Do you think, if Mark Twain were alive today, he would have the same view towards Christians and Christianity as a whole? I wonder if Christ's vision of a better world or society is what's going on today. I read somewhere, where this over 33,000 different types of Christian religions, is this what Jesus had in mind over 2000 years ago.

I don't think Mark Twain was referring to Jesus as being a bad person and Christians not wanting to associate with him. I believe it's the other way around, Jesus was an exceptional person and believed in living a life as an example towards others with kindness, forgiveness and love.

Sometimes Christians get a little carried away when they start talking about loving their neighbors like they would themselves or asking for forgiveness while choosing not to forgive others. It's hard to imagine what Jesus would actually think of modern day Christians or even what he would think about Christianity over a hundred years ago.

I wonder what Jesus would have thought a thousand years ago about Christians. Mark Twain brings up a very good point, if Christ was here today, would he be happy. If you're living a life as a Christian and following in the footsteps of Jesus, you should be proud of yourself. If not, maybe you should start thinking about changing your ways.

If you are following the path of Christ, are you following a path that has been changed and manipulated to benefit organized religion and the advancement of Christianity, or are you following the true path of Jesus. Something to think about if you're planning on spending the rest of your life in the Christian religion.

The Beginning of Religions

It seems like everywhere we look in the world, we are always focused on something in the middle. Often we are spending most of our time thinking about the end and never thinking about how it all began. In the holy Bible, it states in the beginning but doesn't talk about the beginning of the beginning. Where did God come from, that is the actual beginning.

I don't know how many stories I've read in the Bible about other people's triumphs and defeats, but keep in mind that some of these stories cannot be proven, factually. Some people believe in Krishna, others Jesus, Buddha, God, and the vast and numerous creators of the world and the entire universe. I don't know which one or if all of them are the true God's and by that I would refer to God as the creator of the universe.

It seems to be extremely difficult to prove scientifically and without any doubt, that the earth was created by a creator, according to popular religious text and would be very difficult to prove with in the leading religions of the world.

Let's get back to the question of where did God come from? There obviously had to be someone before the creation of the universe, if you choose to believe in a creator. Is God a man, woman or some sort of spiritual entity, like a ghost or maybe some smoke that can form into anything at any time and if so, did his secrets come from another creator or superior being. Was God involved in self-help and learned all these secrets on his own, through trial and error.

I often wonder, how long the creator of the universe was alive before our creation and what other worlds has this all mighty and powerful being built before or after ours. Do we have sister universes and if so, will we ever be able to see them or visit them, during our lifetimes.

Most people dismiss the creation of the creator, but wouldn't this be one of the most important parts of any religion? There's obviously something to think about here and I wish that most people practicing religions, which involve a deity or superior being, could take a little more interest in finding out where their God actually came from.

Oh yeah, one more thing. If you do find the answers, I would love to hear from you and by the way, you would be solving one of the universes most perplexing and complicated secrets. You could be a gazillionaire and make the cover of Time magazine, something to think about.

The current financial crisis across the World has highlighted how fragile the employment market can be. With references being made to the Wall Street crash of the thirties, the current crisis does not have precedence but is obviously much more real to those experiencing it. Some people are much more affected than others but its fair to say that everyone gets affected in some way, whether its rising costs in the shops or less money in their pocket or from their savings.

One of the main areas affected by recession is the job market. Already we have seen reports of redundancies & layoffs from some of the most established companies - those that we incorrectly perceived would be best placed to survive a severe financial downturn & that has come as a shock to most. Perhaps we are having a wake up call? Is now an ideal opportunity for all of us to take stock of what we are, what we do & perhaps find ways that we can do it better?

For the self employed, things are arguably easier, as being in this position gives you a degree of flexibility & the real ability to make changes to your business that enable you to adapt quickly to change. This only works of course, if you are able to recognise that you need to change & it is at this first hurdle that many will fall as sometimes we are too blinkered to recognise the need for change!

Be receptive to change. Just because you've always done something a certain way, doesn't make that way the best way - every successful business always evaluates what it does & the way that it achieves it. The first rule for any business owner is to set clear goals. Goal setting is one of the most important methods of achieving success both in your personal life & in business. Take a look at where you are now & set clear & achievable goals for where you want your business to be over the next two years. Write down the goals & review them on a daily basis (first thing in the morning is best), by reviewing them you will plant them into your subconcious & you will bring them into being. The important thing about goal-setting is to make sure the goals are achievable & you should always write them down in the first person present tense e.g. " by February 2010 I am turning over 200,000 per annum". Review your goals as you achieve them & set new ones as required. There are a wealth of resources on goal setting & it is one of the most powerful tools in your life.

In addition to goal setting, manage your time. It is better to do 3 tasks completely than start & not finish 20. There are numerous courses & books about time management, some techniques are really simple but very effective & time management will help you achieve your goals & will make your business run more efficiently & effectively. Do not procrastinate, don't put off tasks until tomorrow that you need to do today. Customers keep coming back to people who do what they promise to do in the time required.

Budget effectively in your business activities. Keep control over your finances with an effective accounts package. There are many out there & you are sure to find a package that works for you & with you. Know exactly where every penny is & equally, make sure you collect every penny owed to you. Never forget that cashflow is the lifeblood of any business, particularly a small one.

Excel in what you do. So many people carry out a job of work without really thinking about how well they do it. Push yourself to be the very best that you can be in your field of work. Learn new skills, improve your existing ones, take new courses to introduce new skillsets to your business. You will be rewarded with the knowledge that you are doing the best that you possibly can & customers will be delighted with your standards & keep using you & importantly recommending you to others.

Never stand still. Always be alert to new opportunities in business & better ways of doing things. Join a local or national trade association & share your experiences with others & you will also have access to invaluable levels of skills & experience form a huge resource.

Most importantly of all - be positive. Think & speak postively, do not run with the current trend of talking ourselves into recession. Be positive & upbeat with customers & fellow tradespeople, we bring into being that which we think about most - the current press coverage does no favours for the economy, don't become part of it but fight it & you will prevail. A final word -You are responsible for your life, no one else. What happens to you is a direct result of what you do so be proactive & take control of your present & your future.

Time Management For Students - Accomplish More in Less Time

Ever wondered how some students seem to accomplish so much with so little time? It doesn't seem fair, does it? We all get the same 24 hours. Yet they are able to get more done than the rest of us? And meanwhile, here you are, scrambling to finish just one of the many assignments on your desk as the feelings of frustration begin to build.

The trick to accomplishing all your assignments is to use good time management techniques, which means properly organizing and scheduling your activities. Doing this will enhance your productivity and ability to meet deadlines. Here are a few tips on time management for students to help them better manage their time and resources to boost their overall productivity.

Time Management Technique #1 - Keep a Journal

Now we are not talking about a journal where you write down your most inner feelings and deepest thoughts. It is a journal where you can list all of your assignments, appointments, and activities that you need to get done. Your journal could be a simple notebook or notepad, or you may use an organizer or even mobile devices if you are tech savvy.

Carry this journal with you at all times - to classes, group meetings, appointments, etc. Doing so accomplishes two things. First, you will always have one place to jot down all the assignments and due dates that come up throughout the day, week, or month (and do write everything down, even if it seems small and unrelated. If it must be done, then get it in your journal). Second, by having everything in one place, you need only look at your journal anytime you need to remember important dates, deadlines, and meetings.

A journal also helps you budget your time. Since you have listed all the resources, deadlines, and priorities for each project in one place, it is easy to see what tasks need to get done and when; and how much time you should budget to accomplish a given task. As you can see, having a journal and carrying it with you at all times allows you to record everything in one place, which helps you to remember important dates and budget your time wisely.

Time Management Technique #2 - Work Smart, Not Hard

After a teacher gives you an assignment, you may be tempted to buckle down and start working on the project immediately. Although, this seems like a good thing to do because you are not procrastinating, it could actually be counterproductive.

As we mentioned, the technique here is to work smart, not hard. And working smart means planning before you start. Planning could involve thinking, conceptualizing, and visualizing how your project should be executed or how you want the end result to look. Planning could also involve finding ways to reduce redundant and repetitive tasks within the project.

You can save a lot of time and effort from planning. With planning, you identify the time wasting tasks you can avoid and focus on what you need to do. A little extra planning in the beginning can save a whole lot of time in the end.

Time Management Technique #3 - Make Sure to Get Some Rest

When we think of time management for students, the things that come to mind are scheduling classes, reading assignments, meeting with groups, and preparing for finals. But you never hear about improving other areas of your life that directly influence your ability to use the time, energy, and resources you have more efficiently.

One such example is getting enough sleep. Pulling an all-nighter once in a while should be okay, but pulling all-nighter after all-nighter will drain your energy and decrease your productivity. By getting enough quality sleep each night, you will replenish your energy and be more alert throughout the day and for the tasks at hand.

So make sure to rest up and get the right amount of sleep. Also make sure to take frequent, but short breaks to re-energize yourself. Being alert and recharged exponentially improves your efforts because it enhances all other areas of time management you are trying to put into place.

Time management for students is only as effective as how well you plan. We all want to get more work done in less time, enjoy more personal time with friends, and of course, we all want to spend more time to have fun. All of these things are possible if you employ the time management techniques discussed here - keep a journal, work smart by planning ahead, and make sure to rest up. Follow these tips, and you'll always find time to relax and enjoy yourself.

Buddhism Compared to Other Religions

When you come to Buddhism you have to be prepared for some significant surprises. Many aspects of Buddhism may seem familiar to you:

  • Buddhists tell a story about the founder of their tradition, as Christians and Muslims. His name was Siddharta Gautama, he lived in Northern India around the year 500 B.C. He was known to his followers as the Buddha, or the awakened one.
  • Like Jesus and Muhammad he developed a very distinctive response to the religious problems of his day. He started a religious movement that now is expanded throughout the world, from South East Asia across Northern Asia, and in the last hundred years or so, in Europe and North America.
  • You might ask yourselves how the Buddha differs from other founders. Jesus and Muhammad brought many messages as if they were people communicating some sort of divine reality. The Buddha, unlike Jesus and Muhammad serves more as an example. He doesn't bring a divine message, he gives us an example of behavior that we as human beings are invited to follow.
  • The Buddha also put together a community of followers, like other major founders of religious traditions. In his case it was an order of monks and nuns who passed on the tradition of Buddhist learning.
  • Buddhist also has very familiar patterns of ritual and worship. They go on pilgrimages to important shrines. These pilgrimages are not different from the pilgrimages that occur in the Christian tradition.
  • Buddhists teach people how to confront and deal with the deepest questions, not unlike other religious traditions. They are concerned about issues that we all confront as human beings. What will happen to me when I die? How can I live my life in a way that would be happy, peaceful and compassionate? These are questions that concern all of us as human beings. Buddhists have distinctive and very powerful answers to these questions.

Healthy Weight Loss Motivation and Encouragement

Motivation and encouragement are very important to your healthy weight loss plan. This is because it is not easy to lose fat. And most people will quit easily if they cannot see quick results. As a result, you will need to have the motivation to keep working on it. It will be a lot easier for you to succeed if you can have the encouragement.

First of all, let us talk about your healthy weight loss motivation. You will need to think about your reasons to lose fat. It is a must for you to write all the reasons down. You do not only write on one piece of paper. You will need to write the reasons on a few pieces of paper. You will put one on the door of your fringe. You will also need to put one in your wallet so that you can bring it along with you. You will be more determined if you can remind yourself the reasons from time to time.

You should also tell everyone you know about your healthy weight loss plan. They will be able to give you a lot of encouragement. When you want to quit, your friends or family members will keep encouraging you. You will not want to quit when you are encouraged by the others.

You should keep telling yourself that you will get better every day. It is very true that it can take you some time in order to succeed in healthy weight loss. You will not be able to see quick results. You need to encourage yourself. Besides, you should remember that you should never try to weigh yourself every day. Weighing yourself every day can be very discouraging. You may just lose your motivation if you try to do it every day.

Though you should not weigh yourself every day, you will still need to do it once two weeks. You will need to know your own progress. Remember to keep records of it. You may just be able to lose 1 pound every 2 weeks. Yet, this is a normal progress when healthy weight loss is concerned. And you will be able to lose 10 pounds in five months! If you can record your progress, you will have more motivations for you to stick to your plan. This is because you can see there are some real progresses.

One last point is that you should also try to take some dietary pills to aid your healthy weight loss. You can do it a lot faster with these products. Remember, you will have more encouragement and motivations when you can see the results!

You can read more ideas about healthy weight loss. Be sure to visit the website about weight loss pills reviews so that you can discover which kind of plans and products will be the best for you!

Reading Feng Shui Books - Get Great Advice

Quite simply, a different style of living. If you're the kind of person who eats the same food week after week, shops and the same stores and only socializes with a few people, feng shui is probably not something you're going to be interested in. However, if you're someone, who wants to try something different, the Chinese philosophy of feng shui could be something that you, just might be interested in.

Where can you find feng shui books? Of course we all know you can find them at your local bookstores like Barnes & Noble, Amazon and other online sources. Here's something that might be a little new age or something that most people often forget about, how about going down to your local public library. Public libraries are a great source for books and if you don't like them, you never had to pay for them.

Feng shui books have become popular in the last 20 to 40 years and seems to create an environment out of your home. The Chinese have been practicing this for over a thousand years and it almost has a mystical power to it. If you're tired of the same old house and would like a little change in your life, I would suggest using some of the simple methods, suggested in these books.

One $20 book on home building or feng shui, can save you lots of money, if you're willing to do a little research and the labor to complete almost any home building project.

By the way, if you're interested in learning how to repair a roof, build your own house, interior decorating, structural engineering, building a deck, gathering some more information about home painting or even remodeling your bathroom. Our online home building bookstore can save you money if you're willing to do the work.

You can learn a lot by reading feng shui books and I would suggest, that if you're interested in interior design or even spirituality, these books will provide you with the information, you need to create a little change in your life.

Greg Vanden Berge is working on the internet to promote the education for creating simple to follow guides and home building books to help professional building contractors as well as the weekend warriors. He is currently working on more building stairs books and adding useful content to help solve problems created by the lack of construction knowledge in the building industry.

Spending 15 Minutes Each Day

Spending My Childhood Around Christians

I was born in the 1960s and raised in Southern California, United States of America. During that period of time, and in the area I was raised, there was basically one religion that dominated every aspect of mine and my friends lives. That religion was Christianity. When I was in elementary school, I knew one Jewish boy and he looked different than the Christians and even talk different. He was very smart and spent a lot of his time reading, instead of playing at recess.

There were no Muslims or Hindus and it was a predominantly white environment. The first black students I seen was when I entered the eighth grade and by the time I finished high school, I could count all of the black students I had met on both of my hands. So now you have a pretty good idea of my life, living in a white neighborhood that was 90% Christian.

As you can guessed it, I was raised a Christian, but not a regular Christian, I was a Methodist and proud of it, until my parents got tired of the church elders asking for money or if my father could help build the new church. My father explained to them, that he needed to work to support his family and could only contribute, what ever he could to the church and no more. They were very unhappy and made it uncomfortable for us to go to the church anymore.

Hard to imagine, isn't it. Christians asking for money and then when they don't receive it, getting mad at one of their brethren.

Well it was time to switch churches and we are now going to the Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove California. These people had everything and it was a large church. This was before they built the massive glass structure that is presently the church sanctuary. I enjoy going to this church, because we didn't have to go to Sunday school and got to sit with the adults to worship.

By the time I was 15, neither one of my parents were going to church anymore and my life didn't seem to change that much, even though I prayed every night with my brother. Maybe that was it, I didn't have to go to church as long as I prayed every night... By the time I was 18 years old, I was more confused about organized religion than ever before and this included Christianity.

How can someone kill in the name of God? The Muslims were doing it, the Christians were doing it, the Muslims were fighting the Hindus in India and it all seemed normal. It didn't seem normal to me, when I was supposed to love my neighbor and live a life like Christ who never seemed to start fights or even get mad. Maybe a couple of times, over some money, in the Temple.

I have chosen not to be a part of organized religion. I'd figured out that most of our religious beliefs came from our upbringing. This seems to have brainwashed us into believing we are better because were right and know for a fact, that we have chosen to belong to the right religion. What if were not right?

I want to ask you a question, do you think that other religions are wrong and yours is right? If you really spend some time and think about this, you will see, that your religion is not that different than someone else's and neither was their upbringing. Most religious followers, belonged to the religion of their childhood.
